kitty's Cottage is situated in a quiet street and the town, train station, park and little convenience shop are all in easy reach. The cottage itself is quaint, rustic, quirky, full of character, and has a light and airy feel with a small green garden. There is a small front room which leads to the kitchen where there is a dinning table and chairs. From the kitchen there is a door which leads to the garden, at the bottom of the garden there is an outhouse which hosts the washing machine. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, one twin room and a small bathroom.

Good, quiet location
A compact and conveniently located cottage, close to the town centre and recreation ground. Handy little enclosed garden, which was a great asset for both us and our dog. As you would expect from a Victorian cottage, it was not built with the car owner in mind, so be prepared to park a couple of streets away if you are returning later in the evening. Very pleasant stay and even during the Hop Festival, it was quiet. Slight problem with water ingress during unusually heavy rainfall, but it did not impact us much. New sofa / armchair would be a great asset and both became a little uncomfortable after a while. Very good communications from the owner.

All show, no substance
Good location 10 mins from station, bus to Canterbury in main road
Pretty decor, grey and white.
But housed smelled of mould and rot
Shower leaked inside wall. Water ran down lounge wall.
No shelf space in bathroom.
Towels fell off round bahroom hooks.
Single beds wire springs sagged badly and were ubcomfortable.
No exhaust fan or ventilation in bathroom.
Gaps in upstairs floorboards can lose earrings and credit cards in gaps.
Coir rugs on floot a tripping hazard.
Kitchen cupboards inside grimy.Needs clean and paint job..
Stale condiments and food in pantry.
Only one saucepan lid.
Potao peeler blunt.
No kichen tongs
No hooks to hang tea towels.
Kitchen bin under sink unpleasant to use.
Overhead cupboards gimy and broken wire front.
TV failed to work after first night
Washing machine tempermental and takes too long.
Outside line is not under shelter.
Ouside laundry/washouse smelt of mould.
It was in very poor decorative condition with plaster falling from the ceiling and water stains/damp
The property is in serious need of maintainence. There was damp stains and water leakage had caused parts of the ceiling to fall in. It wasn’t easy to operate the TV, the bed was uncomfortable and it wasn’t very clean.
Lovely little cottage
Lovely little home to use as a base for our long walk and hop festival visit. Very cosy and well equipped.

A lovely property in a very good location
The first impression of this cottage was very good from the outset with some lovely period features and enough space for us (3 adults and a toddler) to live comfortably for the week. To make this review as useful as possible I will break it down into categories.
1. The house:
A nice sized living room with coffee table and feature fire place. A TV with integrated DVD player connected to a freesat box is provided. There were plenty of DVDs and books provided which would have been useful if we had any wet stay in days (luckily we didn't). There were also plenty of children's toys which was great for our little one. The kitchen was very nice and well equipped with enough space for a 4 seat dining table. The two bedrooms (a double and a twin) were a comfortable size and had a good amount of storage. The bathroom was perfect for our needs having both a bath and shower. The garden was a lovely space for relaxing in the evening and had a useful utility building housing the washing machine and other useful items.
2. The location
The cottage is very conveiniently located being only 10 minutes walk from the centre of town and 15 minutes from the train station. There was a handy corner shop about 3 minutes walk from the cottage and a tesco store also within easy distance. There is also a recreation ground nearby with a childen's play area, so plenty in the immediate area. Faversham is also very close to the A2 and M2 providing easy access all the places of interest in Kent. The longest drive we had was probably around 45 minutes.
The owner of the property went out of her way to greet us in person and was very knowledgeable about the area giving us plenty of useful information. She even lent us a buggy after we realised we had forgotten to bring our own. Other nice little touches such as tea, milk and other essentials being provided for us and the soft toy and books provided for our daughter made us feel very welcome from day one. We had no issues at all with the property but we knew that if we did need anything then we could call the owner and it would be sorted out.
Overall this property represents excellent value for money and we would not hesitate to stay here again if we had another break in Kent.
Special interest holidays:
Faversham is an excellent base for visiting Canterbury and the coastal towns of Kent as well as having superb rail links to London and the channel ports.
The coastal wetlands around Faversham, especially the RSPB reserve at nearby Harty Ferrry provide excellent bird watching.
The area offers an array of beautiful country walks and coastal and river paths.
Once a year Faversham is home to the 'Hop Festival' and also once a year Faversham hosts a Classic Car show in the town centre.
The Nearest beach is Seasalter which is about 4.5 miles away.
Whitstable is a popular coastal town 7 miles away via car however a regular train service direct from Faversham runs to whitstable.
A car is not essential. There are buses to Canterbury and Whitstable which are a 2 minute stroll away. The railway station is about an 8 minute walk and trains go direct to London victoria (1h20 - 1h40) via high speed train which links with Eurostar at Ebsfleet or St Pancras. There is a direct train service to Dover.
M2 motorway is about 1.5 miles away
Gatwick airport is 60 miles away while the channet ports are about 35 minutes drive.
Canterbury - 10 miles
Whitstable - 9 miles
Ramsgate - 25 miles
Faversham has numerous independent shops and restaurants. It is the home of Shepherd Neame Brewery (The oldest Brewery in Britain) who do Brewery tours.
There is a tourist information centre located in Faversham town centre.
