The cottage sleeps 6 plus with a z-bed and cot available on request. Luxury Egyptian cotton linen and towels are provided. (not provided for z-bed or cot). The cottage is non-smoking, no pets and has no steps to its access. Free view TV and free WiFi.

About Mrs Victoria Carter
'The Hideaway' is owned by Victoria & David Carter. We bought the holiday cottage because of our love of Whitby and the surrounding area. We have three young children who all love visiting Whitby, enjoy the beaches and the coastal walks. Living less than an hour away we are very familiar with the area so if you have any questions we are more than happy to help.

'The Hideaway' for us is perfect as it is set in the very heart of the Old town of Whitby, so within seconds you are midst the vibrant atmosphere but once you step back inside the cottage it gives a real 'away from it all' feel. The location is second to none with eveything from pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and Market, literally on your door step and with the beach only a stones throw away! Whether you decide to spend your time in Whitby, go off exploring the surrounding area or prefer to be more active, the list of things to do or beautiful places to go is endless.

Stayed here with a group of 6 adults, and we loved it. One of the downsides is also a positive for this property, whilst there's no parking and you can't pull up right outside to unload or load cars...this is because it's so central, so perfect when you've ditched the car elsewhere and are exploring on foot. House is furnished well, and very stylish. Only two comments I can make are that one of the taps in the en-suite was dodgy and in need of attention, and an electric kettle wouldn't go amiss so you're not waiting ages for it to boil on the hob. That said, perfectly comfortable accommodation, even for 6 adults. Kitchen was too small for all of us to be in at once, but then who's cooking when you're a 30 second walk from takeaways, cafe's, pubs and restaurants?! Lovely welcome note and bottle, and thoughtful touches throughout. Would definitely return!
Great cottage, great location
Beautifully presented, well equipped cottage right in the heart of the shopping area. Everything is literally on your doorstep. Centrally located for all the sights and attractions. I would definitely recommend this property if you are thinking of staying in Whitby.
Castaway at hideaway
The hideaway is an impressive holiday let with it’s impeccable decor and furnishing to its centre location and despite being in the town centre it was wonderfully quite . We had a wonderful week the children loved their rooms and after a week of sleeping on the fifth floor my legs appreciated it too!! Fabulous
Lovely character property in the heart of Whitby Old Town
This was a lovely holiday weekend and we were very lucky to have beautiful weather too. The Hideaway is indeed a hidden Gem right in the heart of Whitby's old historic centre. If you like history, seaside shabby chic and don't mind the stairs to climb in this traditional style cottage the Hideaway might be perfect for you. Everything you need is on the cottage's doorstep.
Quaint cottage reflects it's character
This cottage reflects it's original character the owners have done a lovely job of making it feel cosy whilst being modern it is ideally situated in the middle of the cobbled street ideal for popping in and out when you need high quality furnishings and lovely features the courtyard a lovely place to sit . also amazing views from master bedroom .it was a pleasure to stay in this lovely cottage a nice touch was the bottle of wine and postcard left for you I have kept the postcard milk tea and coffee on arrival would deffentaly recommend this property xx

Only 1 minute walk to the nearest sandy beach.
Nearest Airports are Durham Tees Valley, Leeds Bradford and Humberside. Travel to Whitby Train Station via various routes or access by car.
In the heart of Whitby old town, with its cobbled streets, picturesque houses, sandy blue flag beach, magnificent stretches of coast, spectacular cliffs and pretty bays. Only a short drive away are the North Yorkshire Moors where there are a number of delightful villages to explore, or head along the coast to take in beautiful coastal villages such as Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay, probably one of the most popular, charming and picturesque fishing villages in the country.
Whitby is a shoppers’ paradise with an array of unique shops offering local crafts, famous Whitby Jet jewellery, maritime memorabilia and antiques as well as modern chainstores.
When it comes to food Whitby has it all, Award winning seafood restaurants, continental delights, traditional sea-shanty inns preparing locally cooked produce and olde worlde English tea rooms serving freshly baked pastries and Yorkshire teas.
There are numerous banks and nearest supermarket is a few minutes walk away.

Booking Notes: A deposit of £200 is payable with the booking, and is non-refundable. The balance is due eight weeks prior to the date of arrival. Full payment is payable on all holidays booked within 8 weeks of commencement. In the event of cancellation we will endeavour to re-let the property and refund the balance. A refund cannot be given if we fail to re-let the property. The £200 deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances. A £100 deposit will be taken to cover damages or excess cleaning. Changeover Day: Change over day is a Friday and bookings are taken for a minimum of 5 nights. If you do have a request to start your holiday on a different day please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you. Arrival after 3.30pm and vacate property by 10am. Notes on prices: We reserve the right to change tariffs during the year for special offers and discount periods. Tariffs are agreed and contracted for on booking and are not subject to change if reduced at a later date.
