Beach-goers are encouraged to check out the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area trail along the marsh to view the natural beauty of the area. Kure Beach is Pleasure Island’s best kept secret, tucked away at the end of the island! Every other Friday night, there is a free, outdoor concert at Fort Fisher State Park.
Take the Southport Ferry across the Cape Fear River to the quaint little fishing town of Southport for additional dining, shopping, and sightseeing.
