An excellent holiday house
Very well equipped and with a very helpful owner. Impossible to fault all round.
Wonderful surroundings and beautiful views.
We spent wonderful week in Tenuta Cerretino. The house was big, well-maintained with nice terrace and swimming-pool. The location is in quite, nice area with beautiful views of Mount Sibilini. The owner, Giampiero is very nice and very helpful. I recommend to see and climb Mount Sibilla. The small town Monte Monaco is also worth to see. In small distance is a lake with nice grassy beach but the water was rather cool.
Travelling first time is good to use geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) in the car navigation.
The best views ever! Gorgeous villa!
We stayed at the villa with our children and their various boyfriends/girlfriends for 2 weeks in July/August. We all got lost trying to find it!! I recommend using Google Earth before you leave to get your bearings; as the roads in the mountains are narrow and with frequent bends, and the track that the villa is on is not at all obvious.
The villa was well equipped and beautiful, with a lot of ancient stone and lovely artwork. It was decorated to a very high standard. Giampiero the owner could not have been more helpful at solving minor problems, including the internet access problems! His English was good, although we worked out that we could communicate better in Spanish!
The views were superb: 360 degrees of fields and mountains. I could just look out of the bedroom window all day watching how the sun changed the scenery looking towards the Sibilini Mountains and Montefortino in the distance. The children enjoyed stargazing at night lying on the tennis court for the best view!
Facilities superb. Good quality tennis court, very well heated pool (almost too hot) sunbathing areas and terraces around the house to catch or hide from the sun all day. The pool table was popular, particularly in the evenings (the pockets are small making it challenging) and well used in the evenings. Off the beaten track so very peaceful as well.
Local towns for shopping about 20 minutes away. We ate out at very good nearby Agriturismo farms. Ascoli Piceno is about 45 minutes by car and is an interesting city; we were there for a fantastic medieval carnival. Seaside at San Bennedetto about an hour - but we didn't like that at all, with no access to beach unless you paid a lot for a whole day sun lounger. The shopping mall off the main road there was good, however. Good trips into mountains for scenery, which was spectacular and we did some walks in the local gorges (refreshingly cool in the 30+ degree heat).
We would LOVE to come back here again. It really is much better than even the photos suggest.
Only a couple of adverse comments. It would be nice if the piano could be tuned. A house book would be a good idea to share useful information about nearby trips and places to eat, as there are very few travel guides for this area available in English. I had to buy a bit of kitchen equipment as catering for 10 people we needed a bit more in the way of serving cutlery and large bowls for salad etc. I did leave the things I had bought there, to help.
We all had a wonderful week in Tenuta Cerrentino, the villa was as described. The property was well maintained and with good support from Giampiero we obtained WiFi and a warm pool. The surrounding area is breathtaking and the local restaurants very good. I have recommend this property to several of our family and friends.
1. Make sure all the outside lighting works
2. Keep on top of the landscaping, cut grass and cut back the trees
3. Provide a list of local shops, opening and closing times
Overall a great property.
Thank you Giampiero
We spent ten days in this majestic, beautiful villa. The pool, tennis court and billiard room supplied the family with plenty of entertainment, and the 23 hectares offered a peaceful haven for peace and quiet, and a few lovely wanders.
As a converted monastery, the villa is beautifully restored with huge paintings and antiques, plus everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Easy access to the Sibillini mountains, and an hour to the beach at Grottammarre, it's perfect. The owner, Giampi, is an amazing host, incredibly relaxed, very helpful along the way, with lots of interesting information about his organic farm that is also on the property and can be visited. Thanks Giampi!
