Dunvant, Nr. Swansea, Gower Peninsula, South Wales: Easy Access To A Great Range Of Activities
About Matt Elliott
The Old Joinery has been in our family since it was built around 1910. This is the family home which we grew up in and was a working Joinery for almost a century until around 2010. The house was completely refurbished in 2012 and we are pleased to say that all our visitors feel it has become a home from home. We hope you decide to visit the Gower and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to email or text. Matt, Philip and Charlotte

What makes this House unique
The house is particularly good for large families or 2 families to stay with flexible accommodation that will give you privacy but also plenty of space for socialising, both inside and out. It is easy to get to on a Friday evening, only 15 minutes from the M4. It is also a great base from which to explore the Gower and City of Swansea. The Gower Peninsula is a wonderful place to visit and offers something for everyone, from adrenaline junkies who can enjoy the surfing and coasteering to those looking for a more relaxing times, enjoying the beautiful coast paths and long history to be explored: the dramatic ruin of Pennard Castle on Three Cliffs Bay is a favourite of ours. We include leaflets for things to visit in and around the area but please let us know your new discoveries. The Gower is increasingly popular with golfers and we have had groups from France and Germany and all over the UK coming to enjoy the variety of courses available within a short drive.

Excelent family venue.
Spent Easter at The Joinery with 6 adults and 4 tinies.
Great house, well appointed and equippedwith plenty of room for all and lovely big lawn out back. We were lucky with hot weather so all meals were taken outside on the wonderfully big patio table.
We went to the beach at Oxwich bay twice. The fact that it only took 20 mins to get there meant that we beat the crowds and had beachfront parking both days.
A lovely, spacious house, giving access to all of the Gower.
A really lovely house to stay in with space for all 12 of us under one roof. The games room was a great addition, and the house itself was very comfortable, with loads of storage and plenty of communal space.
The kitchen felt a little small for the number of people it needed to cater for, in particular the oven. We bought 2 slow cookers from home with us, which were a real help and made things a lot easier than they otherwise would have been (there was actually one already there).
We took the bikes out for a day. Some of them needed a little TLC, but great to have them available to us - thank you!
All in all, a brilliant week spent at the house, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a large family home!
Thank you for your feedback and your suggestions for improvements. It's great to hear you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
Lovely house and area.
We all had a brilliant week the weather was good and there is so much to do and see, you can’t do it all in just one week.
House was surprisingly big, clean and comfortable excellent for a few families to meet. We were even allowed to get in the house early Saturday morning as it was ready, thank you Matt.
Delighted to hear you had a good time on the Gower. When the weather is with you it cannot be beaten and there are some great all weather activities to explore too now.
Hope to welcome you back again in the future.
All the best
A great property in a central location to explore South Wales.
A great week spent on the Gower with family from far afield as New Zealand, Scotland, Norfolk and Salisbury. Got the best of the weather and the property lived up to all our expectations. All of us would recommend this to any family group.
A spacious, bright, comfortable home ideal for large families and groups
My family (six adults & four grandchildren) had an excellent weeks stay. First impressions were not the best as Dunvant is not a picturesque village but don't let that put you off. It is well placed to enjoy all the best of the lovely Gower peninsular and if you are cyclists it is very close to a wonderful traffic free cycle path.
The house is very spacious, light and well equipped making for a comfortable stay. Added to that it has a good sized sunny garden and for wet days a large games room in the converted garage.
There is parking for four cars making it an ideal base for large groups.
Add to all this there is a very good selection of bikes (good bikes) of all sizes. What more could you ask for. Reasonably priced. Yes its that too.
Thank you for your feedback. Dunvant in sometimes known as the 'gateway to the Gower' as it's central location makes it equally easy to access the City of Swansea and the beaches of South or North Gower. It's also only 6 miles to get onto the M4 making it a great location for exploring the wider South Wales coastline and castles of which there are some beautiful examples less than an hour's drive.
So glad to hear you enjoyed the bikes. Please do come again!
Lovely large family home
A great feel at home place to bring your family and or friends for a break in the Gower. Games room for older children and adults. Plenty of room for all. Totally recommend.
Thank you for the great feedback. I'm delighted to hear you found the house worked for you. It does seem very popular with extended families and the games room helps when the weather isn't in your favour: very rare on the Gower of course!
