Lovely large house
Really enjoyed our short stay at Folkingham manor .its a character property so don’t expect wall to wall central heating ,some parts are cold ( we visited in October )but for the summer I should think it’s great .lovely grounds and a real downtime abbey feel ( but not quite so grand ) what I could do with this property if I had very deep pockets !
Delighted you had a good time at Folkingham Manor. I’m sorry you had a problem with the heating. It’s normally cosy in every room,so I’m not sure what went wrong as the heating is working ok.
You’re right the Manor is a special delight in the summer- perhaps you could make that your next visit.
Best wishes Marjorie
Splendid time at Folkingham Manor
A spacious, well appointed and very clean house with large gardens and tennis court. The bedrooms differ in size . This was our second family visit here , it was even better this time because we were already familiar with it. The bonus was a weekend of glorious sunshine which enabled us to enjoy the garden. Highly recommended.
A beautiful large house perfect for our gathering of 5 couples
The house was beautiful and so spacious. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. A very warm and friendly welcome and great communication throughout the booking process. The village and surrounding area was also lovely. Spot on for our weekend away with five couples and one small child. Thankyou to the owners and of course the housekeeper Yvette.
Great spacious house.
A large house to stay spread across 4 floors.
There was very little in terms of home comforts... No oil, salt, pepper etc. And some basic cooking utensils were missing such as a colander.
The fridge is separate from the kitchen which is a little inconvenient. The heating on the top floor is a bit hit and miss and we couldn't get the heater in the top bathroom to work. The pipes are very noisy in the top floor as well.
Other than that, a great spacious house to stay with friends. Thank you
Delighted that you enjoyed your stay.Just to let you know , we keep the fridge in the pantry as it is much cooler than the kitchen and therefore more environmentally friendly.
a wonderful weekend in a unique setting.
This was my family's second weekend stay at the Old Manor house. It is a unique property and a major selling point is the extensive garden with tennis court which was such a treat for my grandchildren and their cousins. The layout of the house is unusual and full of interest. The house keeper, Yvette, was tremendously welcoming and helpful and everywhere was beautifully prepared. A great time was had by all. One small comment: the website indicates there is internet but in fact I there is no WiFi available. A small point but should be mentioned. Otherwise a very special home from home.
A substantial, characterful house in a beautiful quiet English village.
The house was perfect for our family weekend get together. There was plenty of room inside the house. We enjoyed the tennis court and table tennis room and the gardens were lovely. The lawn was perfect for our Vikinger Schach games. Overall a lovely property and worth a return visit. Thank you for looking after us!!
