About Jennifer Ortiz

Paul and Nellafay bought the "old Byington home" to rear their children. Their children are now grown, but through their love, devotion, and hard work, they have restored the home and added a cottage so that others might enjoy the small town they fell in love with and watch grow into one of the premiere vacation destinations in the country. Paul and 'Nell' are elderly now, and we their children live close by and manage the cottage.

Jennifer Ortiz purchased this cottage in 1969

Absolutely Stunning!

We cannot recommend Grandma's Victorian Cottage Enough! Simply beautiful inside and out! Wonderfully and comfortably furnished, this private, get-away spot manages to provide a full kitchen which is only one of its features. Patios lined with lush, flowering pots or trellis after trellis blooming to please you.

If you're looking for a romantic weekend, need a bit of quiet, alone time or visiting the Sonoma area Vineyards Grandma's Victorian Cottage is for you.

Nicely furnished and maintained. Close to town.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at many places in Healdsburg. This is very cozy , quiet, and walkable to downtown. We saved money by shopping at Big John's Market (think Whole foods with better variety, better deli, and lower prices) for our meals, and brought back. Hope to stay here again!

A charming cottage within walking distance of Healdsburg's main square.

Comfortable, quiet, fully equipped, charming but busy, convenient walkable neighborhood, great nearby options for food and drink, we would stay there again.

Perfect Location And Fall Trees In Healdsburg and Dry Creek Amazed Us!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed 3 nights at this very comfortable, very quiet, cozy cottage situated near very quiet neighbors. We loved walking to town to the great shops and restaurants. Discovered Shed this visit and loved it. The gingko trees were dropping their leaves and the vines on Dry Creek were Autumnal too. Beautiful! We spent the Thanksgiving weekend and would go back in a second! Town celebrates the Friday after Thanksgiving in wonderful ways! Horse drawn carriage rides in the square! Carolers on every corner! Lovely. Many pros to the cottage besides the location and a few things to keep in mind...first, the plusses: incredible natural views of foliage from the bedroom and the living room/kitchen! We loved it in the rain too! Also, a strong, easy to regulate shower, comfy chair, loveseat, bed, places to unpack in the bedroom, beautiful antique dining set and armoire. Super clean! New, big screen tv. About 20 current issues of a variety of magazines! Beautiful carpets and flooring. Great places to sit outside too if weather cooperates. Wonderfully responsive owners...hairdryer blew out on a Friday late, I emailed...a new one was hand delivered within a couple of hours! Impressive!, Now, for the negatives for me...could use a sharper paring knife (couldn’t cut an apple), and we moved the silk roses from the dining table eventually...we felt this great place had too many silk flowers, baskets with silk greenery, pictures in the bathroom, etc. Our personal opinion, absolutely! And, we did notice this in the pictures before booking...but, frankly, we would have felt more relaxed with less around us. Hard to judge that until you are there...Again, our personal reaction. Not at all dusty! Just a tad distracting to have so much catching our eyes. We absolutely hope to return! This place is a gem.

Loved Grandma's Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Very nice cottage that is centrally located in Healdsburg. Perfect for two people. Very comfortable. Raining during our stay so did not get to enjoy the lush garden sitting areas.

Charming cottage, close to downtown!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Grandma's. The outside area was very enjoyable to relax and have some wine. We loved the location, it doesn't get much better! We could walk in to town for breakfast before checking out some wineries and then return, park the car and walk for dinner. There were so many great restaurants to chose from. We would definitely return to Grandma's!
