My husband and I have recently retired and now have the time to focus our attention on our two holiday cottages. Between holiday lets we spend as much time as possible in our cottage in Devon as we love the area of the South Hams. We are also delighted to enable people to enjoy the wonderful City of Oxford and surrounding area whilst staying at our cottage in Wheatley.

Very nice cottage in excellent location for getting to Oxford
My wife, daughter and I stayed here for a few days when visiting Oxford. Wheatley and the cottage is very well located for getting there; we were initially thinking about using the local Park and Ride, but even more convenient is the 280/U1 bus that can be caught a 3 minute stroll away. The village has good shop/restaurant/pub conveniences (visit the bakery!), and the cottage is cosy and comfortable, with adequate off-road parking and the use of a small private garden. Jenny and family were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
Delightful and perfect! This was our second visit and we hope to have a third before long. There is still much to see around Oxford and Gadbury Cottage is the perfect base.
Perfect setting, location and cottage!
Wheatley is a quiet village very close to Oxford. Gadbury Cottage is close to shops, pubs and bus stops if you didn’t want to use your car, but well located within the county to enable easy access to many interesting places, including of course Oxford, within easy reach of a Park and Ride. The cottage itself has been beautifully restored and has a lovely spacious feel. It’s cosy, tastefully furnished and very well equipped. There’s even a pretty little garden with table and chairs where guests can relax. There were two of us, but it accommodates three - a double and a single. Delightful owners too! Highly recommended!
Just as good as last time
Cottage is so convenient to get to so many places. It is very comfortable everything you want and the owners are there if you need anything. Wouldnt hesitate to stay again.
Lovely Historic Cottage
The cottage was truly lovely and historic. The private garden is what makes the place so special. WiFi is excellent. The off street parking is convenient. Jenny is a great host. Highly recommended.
Lovely Cosy Little Cottage
We had a lovely long weekend in this very well equipped and well kept cosy cottage.
It's in a nice location, there is just enough in the village to keep you going for a short stay; couple of shops, takeaways, bakery and three pubs. There is also a large Asda about a mile down the road.
The routes into to Oxford are great; the park and ride is less than four miles away or there are bus stops at the top of the road and the service seems to be very regular.
Although Jenny and Martin live across the way we didn't really see them, but knew they were about if we should need anything.
We would certainly recommend the cottage or rebook if were planning to stay in the area again.

Wheatley has many facilities including a good restaurant at the Plough Inn on the London Road as well as an Indian restaurant in the High Street. There is an excellent coffee shop which supplies breakfasts, lunches and sandwiches etc. For food shopping there is a Co-op within easy walking distance along with a butcher, and baker who makes lovely Gluten free bread! There is a Barclays Bank, Post office and Library.
