They appartments was very clean and all mod cons. It was central and we didn't have to use the car. Only down side the bed needs a new matress
Thank you for your review. Im glad you enjoyed your stay. We have a new cleaner for 2019 and will be replacing the mattress.
Great property in middle of Cromer.
Large apartment for two with original features and large windows overlooking the church and high street. Huge bedroom with nice bedding although mattress in need of replacing as uncomfortable. Apartment has everything needed in kitchen including tea towel and dishcloths. Big bathroom but unfortunately bath had not been cleaned and still had hair wrapped around shower hose.toilet and hand basin were clean. Towels not included but a bath mat would have been useful! Comfortable sofa and chair but did have to hoover before sitting as it had been left with hair hair and “ bits” ! Overall great stay but a bit more attention to cleaning needed.
Needs a bit of TLC
This flat is in a great location with shops, cinema, pier etc all in easy walking distance.
The décor is light airy and modern and the bed is comfy. The heating works really well and everything in the flat is nice. However, there is a lot of basic stuff that hasn't been done, even though its been mentioned in the guest comments book several times over the last few years.
There is only one bed side table which is annoying and the bedroom is massive so - Why not? No mirror in bedroom, nowhere to do your hair and makeup. There is no coffee table so if you want to watch Tv and have a few snacks and drinks there is no where to put them. The room is huge so - why not.? There is a small file with details of local activities, but they are so old now. The boat trip leaflet was dated 2015!! Don't worry folks we put a new one in for you.
Unfortunately for us it was not very clean. The shower screen was quite thick with soap scum so it hasn't been cleaned for a while. The mugs on the mug tree were coffee stained and most of the glasses needed to be washed before use. The towels were grey and marked. The worst thing were the windows. They were so dirty it was like looking through mist. Im sure they have not been cleaned for some time. Its a real shame as they are huge windows and its lovely to sit there and watch the world go by.
The entrance hallway needs a lot of attention. Its very unwelcoming. Dirty floor, peeling paintwork, cobwebs, stale tobacco smell and the light did not work. It is not nice for this to be first thing you experience of Shipden House.
Overall we would say this accommodation has potential but seems like owners have taken their eye off the ball, and need to read some of the visitor comments.
Lovely central appartment
Great appartment, central to all you would need, shop's, restaurant, beach, pub's, museums & much more right on your door step. The appartment itself was lovely, has some nice original features too. Self contained for all your home from home need's. Excellent communication throughout the booking process. All in all we had a fabulous stay. Many thanks to Becky for the straight forward booking & for recommending watching the sunset off the pier.
clean, comfortable apartment in central location
The spacious apartment is stylish and coordinated in decor which makes for a very restful ambience. It was all very clean. The bed was comfy. Good WiFi connection. My only negative was that the dining table is perhaps more about style than function - it looks great but we're tall people and our legs did not fit under it. The weather was atrocious during our stay so we really appreciated the central location - we could explore the shops, go for short walks by the sea, and pop back for a cuppa when we got too cold! We had to put the heating on and that was very cosy. Great to be just a short walk from the museum, cinema, restaurants and shops. In fact we were so busy out and about that we didn't have time to browse the excellent collection of books in the apartment. We'll just have to do that next time!
Nice flat but a little lacking.
Generally speaking, we enjoyed our stay in the flat but we felt one or two things would have made it better. For instance - there was no bedside table or light on one side of the bed, there was no mirror of any sort in the bedroom and the smoke alarm is hanging from the ceiling so we couldn't be sure whether or not it worked. We were not impressed with the shower as we were unable to lower or raise the head. The thermostatic valves on two of the radiators were obviously not working which meant we could not turn them off. It is always nice to have a vase of flowers on arrival but not when they are dead and crispy!!
For information - the property details are out of date as the flat is over the Co-op (not Budgens). The Co-op took over more than a year ago (or so we are told).
Thank you for your valued feedback and i am glad that in general you enjoyed your stay. The points highlighted will be looked at and addressed where possible. In respect to the flowers which were left at the apartment, these should have been removed and I apologise for this oversight.
Only 2 minutes' walk to the beach and famous Cromer pier. The front is long and the beaches have lifeguards on duty in season. On the pier is a well known theatre where there are seasonal shows and a full programme of artists throughout most of the year. At the very end of the pier is the lifeboat station which is open to visitors.
A car is not necessary to explore Cromer and our property is easy to reach by train, bus or car. Cromer train station is no more than 10 mins walk away and there is car parking available near to the property. Cromer is only 20 minutes drive from Norwich International airport.

There's plenty to keep sports enthusiasts happy - tennis courts, watersports, horse riding - and a golf course less than 15 minutes' walk from the apartment. The whole area is ideal for walking and cycling.
The small streets throw up inviting local shops where fresh sea food, fine fish and chips, individual and tasteful gift shops and galleries can all easily be found. There are a variety of shops on the high street and it's very likely that you'll find all you need for your holiday here in Cromer.
