A fabulous, well-eqipped and excellent family accomodation in a lovely setting
We have just returned from a wonderful two weeks thanks to Jackie and Peter. We arrived to a very generous welcome that included wine, bread and delicious home made jam. With 4 children ( from 4 years up to 16 years old) and two adults, the property provided everything and more we could have wished for. The pool was just perfect, secluded and much larger than we had anticipated. It met the needs well of our children as our youngest daughter was happy popping in and out the smaller pool while our older children enjoyed the space in the main pool.
The property was very well equipped and we enjoyed sitting and eating out every day in the courtyard. We used the barbecue lots and enjoyed the figs from the tree too. There was great outdoor space around the property and the games room was a huge success and had plenty to occupy all of the children. We were very lucky with superb weather during our whole visit but the games room would be great also if the weather is a little rainy. The property was easily reached from the autoroute and lots of local supermarkets nearby which made cooking and shopping easy. Lots of fabulous towns and villages in easy travel distance of the property and the local markets were excellent too.
Many thanks for a wonderful stay - we would not hesitate to return and were grateful for all of the advice and ideas as to where to visit.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to host you all and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us.
We would be delighted to welcome you to stay again in the future.
With best wishes,
Jackie & Peter
Lovely peaceful cottage
Made very welcome by the owners. Lovely private pool and loungers to sit with drinks. Generous welcome "basket". Huge enclosed field perfect for ball games. (Our dog loved it!).
Lots of interesting places within easy striking distance (La Rochelle / Ile du Re /Cognac & many more). Extremely peaceful but only ten minute drive to supermarkets, shops etc. It is ideal for someone who has a dog or children as there is plenty of safe enclosed space in which they can play. The villa also has plenty of space within (3 bedrooms).
We would definitely recommend this for couples and families looking for a relaxing, private space in which to enjoy their holiday.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Rue Vincent. It was a pleasure to meet you both and Shearer, too. Many thanks for choosing to spend your holiday with us.
Amazing better than described.
We have just returned from the most amazing holiday. The accommodation surpassed our expectations. The owners could not have been more helpful, nothing was any trouble. In truth the setting, facilities, accommodation and location was superb. We will be going back without hesitation.
We could not have wished for better.
Jackie and Peter thank you both for a fantastic holiday, and allowing my children and I to share such an amazing holiday and of course our dogs.
Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to meet you all and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back to stay with us again next summer.

St Jean d'Angély is an attractive market town with a diverse range of independent shops, banks, post office and pharmacies as well as a number of large supermarkets, restaurants and bars catering for all tastes and pockets. It has an outdoor leisure lake and an impressive indoor pool complex with flumes etc.
Situated just off the coast of La Rochelle and accessible via bridge or boat, lies the beautiful World Heritage site, Île de Ré. Explore the old town within the citadel of Saint-Martin and discover the island's fine sandy beaches, ports, forests and salt marshes. Fort Boyard - built by Vauban and located between the Île-d'Aix and the Île d'Oléron - is a short boat ride away.
The pretty market town of Saintes is famous for its Roman architecture, notably the impressive Arc de Germanicus, standing proudly on the banks of the Charente river; the amphitheatre and the Cathédral de St-Pierre. Horse lovers may wish to visit Le Haras National de Saintes – one of the 23 the national horse studs of France. Originally created to provide King Louis XIV with horses, this national network is today responsible for maintaining the standards of breeding and for protecting local breeds – including this area’s Poitevin draught horse and the Poitou donkey. Take a guided tour to see the horses housed in elegant stables set in landscaped gardens.
Cognac, the medieval town which bears the name of the region, is attractive with narrow medieval cobbled streets and elegant Renaissance facades. It is here that the famous beverage of the same name has been produced since the 17" century and where world famous Cognac houses such as Camus, Hennessy, Martell, Otard, Prince Hubert de Polignac, Rémy-Martin, Courvoisier, and Renault-Bisquit are located. Each distillery has its own secret and unique process for mixing the various blends of its eaux-de-vie and most offer guided tours allowing visitors to observe the distilling process as well as to taste and purchase the final product.
