Oiseval is at the end of a short private road that leads directly onto the Great Glen Way, about 5 minutes from the village centre of Fort Augustus. The house itself is just three years old, and has been designed for maximum comfort and liveability, but with striking architectural features such as the chapel style ceiling in the main living area. This, like the rest of the living area downstairs is open plan, which creates a seamless feel throughout the house as well as maximising effective heat circulation; no bad thing in an area which has to cope with sub zero winter temperatures!
There are three comfortably sized double bedrooms, one downstairs and the other two upstairs. The whole house is amazingly light as every main living area is either double or triple aspect to ensure people get every opportunity to see the surrounding countryside; at the front, spectacular views over the Great Glen and at the back, views of Inchnacardoch Forest which is practically on the doorstep.
We have (very friendly) neighbours on one side of the house, but the rest of the surrounding land is still croft land which creates a great sense of privacy without feeling too isolated.
The house is an excellent starting point for numerous walks - through the forest, along the side of the River Oich towards Auchterawe as well as sections of the Great Glen Way, where in minutes, you'll feel very close to nature (helped by the abundant wildlife) and that you've come a long way from civilisation. But you haven't; the house is also near enough to the village for you to be able to get an extra pint of milk if you've run out, or a good meal at one of a number of local eateries.
Whilst we have kept the adult accommodation to six is this is the maximum number that can be accommodated comfortably, we will consider on request accommodating a small child, and a cot and high chair are available in the house.
