Fantastic villa with impressing sea views! I highly recommend it, a lovely place.
The villa is a fantastic place for a group of 10, for example one or two families or a group of friends. The dining area outside is fantastic with wonderful sea views and is connected to the very well equipped kitchen. Lovely pool area. We stayed in the house cooking in the evenings since the views and place is so great. The master bedroom is very spacious with two separate bathrooms. Be aware that the beds in the other bedrooms are not too big so that two adults (that are not a couple or children) might be uncomfortable sharing beds. There is air-condition in the master bedroom, but not in the other rooms, however most of them are equipped with mosquito nets so you can keep the windows open.
There are a 20-25 min walk down to the village a perfect morning walk to buy bread, but if you are going for lunch or dinner in the village or bu the beach you will need a car. Overall I can highly recommend the villa, especially for the spacious areas, the views, the poolarea, the wonderful kitchen and again THE VIEWS!
A truly stunning luxury villa
The word luxury is often used to describe rather average villas. In the case of Villa Montmartin the word is a true description. A well appointed kitchen, an amazing master bedroom and two bathrooms, no less, a huge living/dining area, flanked by a terrace on two sides make up the ground floor while below, four further double bedrooms, a tv room and a bar area with a pool table make up the lower floor.
Better still, the villa was beautifully clean, bed linen and towels are included in the price and basic supplies are in the kitchen, many with little tags saying, 'Please use. No need to replace.' The welcome drinks in the fridge were greatly appreciated.
The pool is larger than the normal pool you get in a south of France villa and with our party of 10 we were never crowded.
The owners were a delight to deal with from the initial enquiry, to the speedy return of our security deposit.
Villa Montmartin is pricier than most, but worth every penny - or euro. Just please don't book it when we want to go again!
Stunning Villa with Stunning Views
We were extremely lucky renting Villa Montmartin for a month during the 2015 summer period. The villa has spectacular views over the Gulf of St Tropez from both the villa and the pool area. The master suite is quite incredulous with two huge en-suits although this is the only air conditioned room as the other rooms benefit from the cooling winds high up on the hill. There is a fantastic professional chefs kitchen, a wonderful outside barbecue and many other gadgets in the kitchen such as a Gaggenau oven, an induction hob, steamer and a huge over sized fridge freezer with fresh ice. There is ample seating for up to 10 people both inside and outside on the terrace. The owner leaves quality branded supplies in the bathrooms, Nespresso pods in the kitchen and has beautiful fresh flowers delivered every Saturday – the owner is extremely generous.
The house is an “upside down” house with the master suite, living room and kitchen upstairs and the other rooms downstairs including a separate bar area with three additional fridges, a pool table and table tennis table plus manicured grass areas outside to play boules.
The quality of the pool water is one of the best we have ever encountered and the pool is extremely large and deep with a infinity edge. The location of the villa is perhaps one of the most important aspects, as although it is only a 20 - 25 minute walk to Ste Maxime, (longer on the way back up the hill!!), where you can take water taxis to St Tropez, Port Grimaud etc, it is also in a very idyllic, quiet location in an excellent private neighbourhood. The grounds in which the villa is situated, have been stunningly developed over the years and there are plenty of sunny as well as shaded areas, which when you enjoy 30 consecutive days on sunshine, is important. There are several outside sitting areas and there are plenty of sun loungers and good provision of pool/ beach towels.
This is a totally independent review – we had never met or had any contact with the owner prior to making our booking. I would also like to add, that the lady who looks after the villa, Aurelia, is a extremely friendly and helpful and the gardeners and pool maintenance guy are very discreet. The actual owners are excellent at replying to e-mails before and after making the booking, were easy to book with, returned the deposit promptly and are extremely flexible and accommodation including accepting at the property, our cockapoo dog, which made our vacation complete.
The photos don't do this fabulous villa justice. You arrive and it's a constant wow! wow! wow! as you peep inside each room - not to mention the view. The little touches that Juli has added, such as fabulous gift wrapped soaps in each bathroom, her little hand written notes on a stash of my favourite coffee pods saying 'help yourself - no need to replace' are everywhere. I would go back in a heartbeat, but I may ask Juli for a ceiling fan in the lounge just to cool that amazing S of F heat :) Thank you Juli and family for sharing your French home with others. If it were mine I just couldn't :)
More beautiful than you could imagine
My family and I stayed at Villa Montmartin for two weeks in July 2014. The house is truly spectacular and is exactly as described on the website. Our favourite area of the house was the outdoor terraces that have a stunning view of both the resort sized pool, the Mediterranean with all the boats heading to St Tropez as well as the pretty town of Sainte Maxime and the surrounding hills. The house itself is in imacculate condition and has every conceivable amenity. The bedrooms were all very comfortable. The living and dining room had the same outlook as the terrace. The kitchen was one of the best equipped and beautiful I've seen. The family very much enjoyed using both the pool table and ping pong table. The swimming pool area and gardens were more impressive than most hotels. Overall the house was more beautiful than we could have imagined. The only negative of the house is that it's difficult to leave it! The house provided us with the perfect base from which to explore both Provence & Cote dAzur. I would highly recommend this property.
This was my third stay here - a stunning villa in a beautiful, peaceful and very pretty setting - yet just a short 10 minute walk to the beach and a short trip into town. We spent most time around the sunny infinity pool - completely private and very quiet. The villa is spacious, spotlessly clean, well-designed, light and airy. The owner has thought of everything and very accommodating and helpful. I have since recommended to friends.
Sainte Maxime is a charming yet sophisticated family destination offering 11km of unspoilt Mediterranean coastline with rocky coves and safe sandy beaches on the glistening gulf of St Tropez. This authentic Provencal town offers something for everyone with a wealth of leisure activities ranging from waterskiing in the bay to an 18 hole International golf course complete with sea views. The lively harbour with its 15 minute water bus service to St Tropez also provides the opportunity to purchase the freshest local fish direct from the quayside. A bustling summer evening market in the narrow streets of the old town is surrounded by an abundance of cafes, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. With an average of more than 300 days of sunshine Sainte Maxime is the perfect year round holiday location.
The villa has 2 flat screen TV's, DVD player, 4 ipod docks, , broadband wireless internet access, a pool table, table tennis table, 3 bicycles and there are tennis courts a short walk away, a bridge club and there is a forest within the domaine with good walking trails. Activities available nearby: golf, water sports, water park, canyoning, climbing Karting, Bowling. Cinema, Arbre en Aventure, Aqualand, Sailing, Jet Ski, Waterski/Wakeboarding,
