Holiday Home House in Pentire Newquay, Cornwall, England - Newquay's best vantage point, with 2 beaches less than 500 metres away.
About Andy Pascoe
Hello, we're Claire and Andy, both Cornish, and have been in Newquay for the past 9 years, having lived in Cornwall all our adult life. We moved here from the big city (Truro) for the outdoor life and haven't regretted a moment of it. Newquay has been and still is a great place to bring up our family, enjoy time with friends and just be! We're really missing the views @97Pentire, but we still live in town, so are close by for help and recommendations if you need them.
Andy Pascoe purchased this House in 2007
Why Andy Pascoe chose Newquay
As you'll see from the pictures, this beautiful house sits on the top of the Pentire Peninsula, commanding some of the most amazing all-round views of the rest of Newquay, Crantock and beyond. We fell in love with it immediately. Waking up everyday to views which are constantly changing and making a cup of tea while watching the waves, is very special. But just a short drive in to town, or a few minutes stroll to the beaches, its a brilliant location, just take a look at the map picture above.
What makes this House unique
@97Pentire is the last semi detached house in a row before the last few bungalows on this road. The sea and headland view across their roof-line is uninterrupted for us. We benefit from being reverse accommodation, so that all of the living areas have incredible views. The kitchen has a very large picture window to the ocean to the North and also has patio doors to the balcony over-looking Crantock beach and the river Gannel to the South. The lounge has a triple aspect with the same Northern and Southerly views but also has a westerly view through the Juliet Balcony, directly out to the headland, ocean, Crantock beach and the wonderful local (Lewinnick Lodge).
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Beautiful home and great location to a variety of beaches and shops..
Felt like a home from home with the beaches right on the doorstep.Dog friendly and she loved looking out of the large window watching the world go by.Great restaurant albeit a bit pricey down the road Lewinnick Lodge 10 min walk.Great facilities in the house and lovely views all around and understand why it is an upside down house. We would definitely rent again.Thank you for letting us enjoy and relax at your beautiful home.
Home from home
Don’t expect a typical holiday let, this is a very comfortable house with lots of thoughtful touches and extras. Had loads of things planned, but with the unexpected nice weather we were happy just chilling at the property. Initially it seemed strange having the bedrooms downstairs, but when you see the views from upstairs you will realise why it was done this way. We were planning to go to another part of Cornwall next year. However, we were so impressed with the property we are considering returning next year.
Wow Mark, thank you so much for your wonderful comments, we would of course be delighted to see you again next year.
Newquay and the rest of Cornwall has so much to offer; so many coves to discover, so many attractions to visit, so many pubs and restaurants to eat in, so many villages to explore and of course so many waves to surf!
Thanks again. See you all soon.
A really fantastic property. The owner has thought of everything and makes it a real home from home.
Everything you could want to enjoy your stay in Newquay. Owner has thought of everything and has set the property out as i expect how he would like to holiday. There were fresh flowers and jam/scones/cream for cream tea on arrival! What an nice gesture. There is a toy box both inside and out to make sure you have something to occupy yourselves between enjoying the views from every room or the surf in Fistral beach. The private garden allows you to hose down the wetsuits (and the dogs) after the beach and a great place to dry out and enjoy the sunshine. Inside the property there is a lot of little touches that make all the difference from the boiling water tap (no need to wait for the kettle to boil to have a cuppa) to the artwork and the herbs on the window sill!
There is a folder with a lot of useful info answering pretty much every question about your stay from taxi numbers , best restaurants, takeaways, pubs and even the best go karting (which we did just 20 mins away! Be careful though there powerful karts over 300cc!!).
All six of us massively enjoyed our stay plus our 2
dogs. We couldn't have picked a better place to call home for the week.
Many thanks to Andy the owner.
Thanks Greg for such a warm and heartfelt review. So satisfying to hear that the effort we put in is enjoyed so much, it's a pleasure.
I'll have to ask St Eval Karting for a commission!
Look forward to seeing you again next year.
Fabulous - amazing views, prefect location, very comfortable.Love the cream tea touch.
What a find! The house was bigger than we needed as there were only the 2 of us and our 2 dogs. However, this was our honeymoon and we wanted somewhere special. We liked the look of it from the pictures and it did not disappoint. Location was perfect for us - easy access to the Pentire Headland and Crantock Beach (via the steps at Fern Pit Café) and with Newquay in walking distance. To add to it all, the Lewinnick Lodge makes for an amazing local!
The house is beautifully presented and very well equipped. We particularly loved upstairs - the views are amazing. Lounge is very comfortable - it was great to curl up on the big corner sofa and watch the word go by. Kitchen is spacious and well furnished - loved the wall of boxes! The decking from the kitchen is a little suntrap and we enjoyed sitting out here with our morning coffee. The garden is fully enclosed so our dogs were safe in it and it is also a suntrap. We don't get the opportunity to sit and sunbathe very often so it was lovely to take an hour out one beautiful sunny afternoon and just do nothing but relax on the loungers.
Instructions and tips and hints were clear and helpful - we liked Andy and Clare's style and approach. Andy was also really helpful in the booking process and the lead up to our stay. The scones, jam and cream that were left for us were much appreciated - nice touch. Only sorry we missed him when we left.
We really enjoyed our stay here - hopefully we'll get the opportunity to return to Newquay in which case we'll definitely be back to 97 Pentire.
Wow! What a positive and happy review, thank you so much. Glad you found a few of the hidden gems dotted around the place.
We would love to have you back, thanks for leaving it so clean and tidy too.
