Loch Morar chalet
The accommodation was clean & good met the owners they were very friendly
the chalet had all the things one could wish for i.e.
The towels & bed linen were first class
A new experience - part of the country never visited before - Arisaig, Morar (silver sands), Mallaig (The Chippy), Ardnamurchan and the Glenfinnan Viaduct and the train then down the road through Strontian and onto the Corran Ferry. How did we fit all that into three days?? Nancy and David
Great stay in a beautiful place, in a very clean, tidy and spacious cabin. The only thing which let it down is lack of kitchen utensils - it badly needs a frying pan, wooden spoons, fish slice etc. Other than that it's great.
Cabin near amazing beaches
We just got back from 3 nights staying in the smaller of three cabins. Good location, easy access to hills, lochs, amazing white sand and crystal clear seas. Arisaig is a 10 minute walk which has a handful of eateries and a Spar shop. About 15 minute drive to Mallaig. The cabin was immaculate and the owners live nearby and are very helpful. Our cabin had a double and two singles and a futon. All electricity is from a coin operated meter so there was great competition to see who could have the cheapest shower - I was slow, washing and conditioning my hair etc and had to suffer the ignominy of a 30p shower taunt. It had a large shower cubicle with shower curtain, a Mira Triton shower - so a decent electric shower. Fully fitted kitchen, all the equipment you need and a washing machine. Linen was on the beds but we were asked to take towels. Dish cloth, tea towel and washing up liquid was provided. There were a couple of dining tables and a lounge with portable TV. Electric heaters and fire. There is also a small private garden with plenty of washing line for drying and a picnic table. No tea bags or coffee or anything was left so it is best to take everything you need or else buy it in Arisaig or from Morrisson's in Fort William. The cabin is a bit like a caravan inside but more substantial. It's definitely not a luxury cabin but is good, clean and comfortable. It would be great for families, walkers and those with dogs who don't want anywhere pristine. How long does anyone spend inside anyway in a place like the Highlands? Lovely view from the main window!
