Why Hans Grabowski chose Ballindalloch
When we first saw the lodge we fell in love with its Scandinavian feel, the peaceful location and the stunning views. Watch the deer at dusk and listen to the owl in the woods at night! The Cairngorm National Park is minutes away, the Lecht ski area suits families with children and is only 30 minutes drive away, or go to Aviemore for a more challenging days skiing. Never seen the northern lights? There is a good chance you will see them here. Ben Rinnes at the back makes for a great little hike with amazing views and it manageable even if you are not very fit or have small children.
What makes this Cabin unique
This is the ideal base to get away from it all, but there is plenty to do on sunny days and rainy ones. The lodge is fully equipped and very comfortable, and has games, DVDs and a Playstation 2 to keep everyone amused, if the sun isn't shining. Enjoy the walks from the doorstep, or on Glenlivet Estate, visit a castle or a distillery, and Inverness and Aberdeen are not too far away, if it gets too quiet, or you need some shopping therapy!

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the chalet. Good location and we were able to visit neighbouring towns quite easily. Affordable accommodation in a lovely setting with everything within the chalet you needed to make your stay a comfortable one. Thank you
Great base for exploring and relaxing
We had a great stay for a week at the end of July, the accommodation was clean and well looked after with plenty of space and good facilities. Being able to sit out in the quiet on the porch in the evenings and mornings was an added bonus and if you’re lucky enough to get the weather the night skies were incredible. The owner Hans kept us updated with the check in procedure and provided personal contact information in case we needed anything. The only thing that was different from the listing was there was no internet access, which wasn’t problem at all, but could be for anyone expecting or needing WiFi.
Great lodge, Great host!
Myself and 2 other gentlemen were working out of this lodge for 10 days, and it had everything we needed as our resting spot!
the scenic surroundings and remote location created a unique and tranquil place for us to wind down when we returned from work.
The kitchen facilities were spot on for making and serving meals, the beds were super comfortable, and the inside of the lodge has such a cosy feel to it!
Our host, Hans, was nothing short of accomodating. We had less than a night to book this before heading up last week, and Hans was quick to respond to all messages and queries, whilst being polite and professional.
Felt like a holiday despite being 10 days of work. We would definitely visit again Business or pleasure.
Thank you, Hans, from myself and on behalf of the boys! :)
What a wonderful base to be surrounded by nature. Great towns nearby, strongly recommended to nature lovers like me!
Nice lodge in a quiet area
We enjoyed our stay. We spent 5 days. The lodge was clean and well equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. We initially struggled without wifi and mobile signal but it was a good technology detox. There are games, dvds and a PS2 which our son enjoyed. The location is good if you want to visit distilleries, cycle in the national park or go for walks. We also did rafting about 50 minutes from Glenlivet.
The lodge was beautiful and in lovely peaceful surroundings
The lodge was emacculate inside and out the surroundings were peaceful and quiet with plenty walks around for us all to enjoy. The games were well used as was the sims game on the PlayStation we all had a ball.
The breathtakingly beautiful and unspoilt Banffshire Coast with its dramatic coastal scenery, pastel-coloured cottages, abundant wildlife and sandy beaches is approximately 50 minutes drive away.
Aberdeen Airport 1 hour 20 minutes, Inverness Airport 1 hour 30 minutes. Due to the remote location of the lodge, you will need a car.
