About annie gibbs
Television Producer/Director/Writer/Care Worker/Shepherdess. I Enjoy meeting my guests and learning about their lives and travel experiences. Enthusiastic about everything, especially chocolate!
Why annie gibbs chose Cherwell
I love the village of Hornton nestling in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside. The beautiful walks, views and country sounds add to a tranquil life. This is where values are upheld and life is pretty near to 'perfect'.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Although the property stands in this quiet and charming village it is close to many cities and amenities. A car is a necessity but within a short drive you can experience a cross section of middle England - famous cities, towns, villages, isolated fields and wooded areas to winding canals, quaint pubs and National icons.

Lovely spot, excellent host
We really enjoyed our few days at the Farmhouse - Annie was a great host and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. We won't hesitate to go back when we get a chance.
A truly heavenly place to stay
My family and I were warmly welcomed by Annie and she left lots of treats for us for the stay.
The cottage was warm and cosy, with a wood burning stove and comfortable bedding. Such a relaxing place, especially the beautiful gardens with lots of bird song. I can't give enough praise for the stay, and we will be back. Thank you Annie for your warmth and hospitality.

Amazing spot, lovely hosts, weird sheep. 😉
Really a find. Includes a lounge with a fireplace to warm the soul and a window onto a private, walled garden straight out of a fairy tale. Annie was incredibly kind, even making a reservation for us, ON EASTER, at what turned out to be a truly delicious local restaurant (we didn’t ask, she was just worried about us finding a proper meal). Quiet, beautiful, warm and cozy, and enough green to satisfy the verdant-seeking soul of my drought-ridden-Southern-California raised daughter.
Oh, AND Annie snuck a fruit salad in for us every morning, in addition to the provided milk, tea, orange juice, whole grain bread, butter, cereal, coffee, hot chocolate, shampoos and soaps..... It’s like home except greener and totally lacking in traffic. We hope to return.
Cosy and beautifully decorated property in picturesque setting
Beautiful little property nested in a quaint and beautiful village. The house itself had a lovely wood fire in the living room with lovely art and decorations as well as a spacious main bedroom and kitchen area. We were particularly impressed by the fact that the hosts had stocked the kitchen with many of the essentials (and more) as well as having everything (and more) that we needed in the bathroom. A short walk will bring you to a lovely local pup/restaurant where the locals are incredibly friendly and hospitable. This place is highly recommended.
Relaxing tucked away cottage for a wintry break
We recently stayed in this property for a child free weekend break! We had excellent communication with the owner before we arrived The owner, Annie, was very welcoming and gave us lots of handy tips on what to do in the area, to see and eating. We did a great guided tour walk around Stratford upon Avon, her suggestion. She left us fresh, prepared fruit each morning for breakfast. The kitchen was well stocked with cereal and there were provisions in the fridge too! There were plenty of logs provided and we spent two lovely cosy evenings by the fire. We'll be back!
Thank you Catherine - I appreciate your review. I am glad you were happy here and look forward to seeing you again.
Picturesque village, gorgeous accommodation, fabulous host
Due to bad weather we needed to delay our trip by a day. Annie kindly offered to extend the visit by a day. Beautiful, spacious accommodation for 4. Exceptional host!
Nice unexpected extras like goodies in the kitchen. Also Annie makes a fresh fruit salad which she drops off each morning.
Also a lovely pub in the village - The Dun Cow which serves a great burger and pheasant curry.
