Modern, contemporary apartment, on a small complex built in 2008, situated overlooking the traditional Spanish town of Albunol and La Contraviesa Mountain Range. Shared swimming pool and 10 mins drive to the nearest beach, however there are numerous beaches for you to sample along the Costa Tropical coastline. A perfect base for a family vacation to Southern Spain, superbly located to explore the beautiful region of Andalucía. Situated at the foot of the Alpujarras Mountains, South of the Sierra Nevada, the Costa Tropical, known as the 'greenhouse' of Spain for its yearly average temperatures of 27 degrees, is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea. The apartment will sleep up to a maximum of 6 people, however its is ideal for a family or group of 4. It is ground level (at the rear) of a low rise apartment block. The large, bright open plan lounge has patio doors which open onto the extensive furnished balcony with BBQ. The hillside position of this apartment, offers spectacular views of the village of Albunol, the sea and the Contraviesa Mountain Range. The apartment is fully air conditioned (heated in the winter months) and enjoys all the 'mod cons'; flat screen digital TV, DVD player & speaker system and a fully fitted kitchen, which includes dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven, hob, washing machine, microwave and even a blender for making those frozen margaritas, to sip whilst relaxing on the balcony watching the sun set!! The Master Bedroom has a double bed with en suite bathroom including a bath. There is a wardrobe, chest of drawers and 2 bed side tables. The bedroom has air conditioning. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single bed, bed side table, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The 2nd bathroom has a shower. Finally, there is an electric double blow up bed to sleep a further 2. The quiet, sleepy, traditional Spanish village of Albunol offers some bars and restaurants, is a 5 minute walk from the apartment, although a 15 minute walk back, due to its position on top of a hill and the very low priced drinks!! The Region is one of the last in Spain to still offer free 'tapas' when purchasing a drink. The village itself also offers a range of shops, banks & local services. This spacious accommodation is offered on a self catering basis and is a 10 minute drive to the nearest beach of La Rabita. The lively beach resorts of Almerimar & Roquetas de Mar, which have many bars and restaurants and some of the best beaches in Spain are 30 and 45 minutes drive away respectively. There are several golf courses within 1 hours drive of the apartment and the well re known Desert Springs Golf Complex is 1.5 Hours drive away. Their is a natural 'spa' in the town and the local area boasts: water parks, go karting, fishing, scuba diving & kite surfing for those that like to be active and plenty of costal beaches for those that like to simply laze in the sun!! The apartment is on the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park, which offers cycling, hill walking and spectacular scenery. The Sierra Nevada Ski Resort, perfect for skiing or snowboarding in the winter and mountain biking in the summer, is within 2 hours. The historic city of Granada, with the world famous Alhambra Palace is 1 hours drive away. There are 2 La Liga Football teams in the area: Almeria & Malaga. Tickets for most games are generally on sale on match days, apart from the big games against Barcelona & Real Madrid, which sell out very early! The apartment is serviced by the following airports;. Almeria (1 hour) - Granada (1.5 hours) - Malaga (2 hours). Car Hire is essential to explore the surrounding areas and fully appreciate the locality. This is an area of Spain that is not hugely populated by tourists.

The property is located in the heart of Andalucia, it remains traditionally spanish and has not been ruined by commercialisation. Free tapas are served in the bars, when you purchase a drink. It is situated in the mountains, but is only a 10 mins drive to the nearest beach. The views are stunning, especially the sunsets, whilst sipping a gin and tonic relaxing on the balcony. You stare right at La Contraviesa mountain range and to the left is the beach resort of La Rabita. It has a swimming pool. with kids that's an essential!!
What makes this Apartment unique
It has a lovely swimming pool, where the kids spend most of their time!! There are lots of beaches along the coast to explore. It is based in a working town, so no matter when you go there is always life. We didnt want a property on a purpose built complex, as out of season, they are souless and like ghost towns. There lots to see and do: golf, go-karting, fishing, water parks, walking, cycling, wetern village and the more commercialised resort of Roquetas De Mar is only 45 mins drive away, if you want that. Over the years we have used as a base and explored many parts of Spain.

Excellent Spanish Apartment in Ideal Location
Had a fabulous stay in this lovely apartment. The apartment was extremely clean and had everything we needed. BBQs on the balcony having G&T watching the sun go down was our favourite time. The pool was clean and very refreshing in the hot sun. The location of the apartment was ideal to get to many local beaches most of had beach restaurants selling tapas and local brews. The local town was very friendly and had many bars which served drinks and free tapas. It is also in an excellent location for Malaga and Almeria airports. Well worth a visit.........
Zona bonita y tranquila. La casa está muy bien (si estuviera más limpia y cuidada sería excepcional)
Nos ha gustado muchísimo la casa (es y tiene todo según las fotos y la información dada por el propietario) pero, el acceso con coche es un poquito complicado, aunque se compensa con las vistas desde la terraza.
En mi opinión: debería estar un poquito más limpia y tener en la casa “accesorios” en perfecto estado (sino es así, mejor no tenerlos, da mala imagen).
Espero haber aportado algo a mejorar, porque es un lugar magnífico y una casa perfecta para descansar y si lo deseas poder desplazarte por la costa, sólo me queda recomendarlo (merece la pena visitar).

Recomendable, vistas y piscina muy chulas el acceso un poco escabroso.

Coast line is doted with several vilages each with their own beach.
Los Roquestas is the most commercial beach
