Wonderful for peace and quiet...
This is a great place to stay - lovely cottage and great location... we wanted to be able to access all the beaches and touristy stuff that Cornwall has to offer, but we didn’t want to stay in a busy and touristy area... the cottage is in a rural setting, super quiet and chilled and a short drive from everywhere you want to go... great for families and people who want to escape the hustle and bustle at the end of the day...
Great cottage, ideally located for the best of Cornwall
Just back from spending a week in this lovely peaceful cottage.
Well equipped, very clean and nicely maintained this cottage provides the perfect base for exploring the best of Cornwall.
Being located a few miles from the A30, you have many exploring options within a short distance.
The cottage is rurally located. We would recommend the Wadebridge road to the cottage as this road is less narrow than other routes.
We enjoyed a very pleasant stay and would be happy to visit again in the future.
Lovely farm cottage in the heart of Cornwall
We would definitely recommend staying here. Clean, peaceful, well equipped, comfortable and well located to access all parts of Cornwall. A great place for kids. Goats and donkeys to feed and Charles does a great tour of the farm for those who are interested. Thanks Charmaine and Charles.
The cottage is well located to explore Cornwall. It is spacious, clean and comfortable. Our hosts are friendly. Our 4 year enjoyed feeding the pigmy goats, and petting the donkeys.
Best cottage ever.
We have been staying at many cottages through England and in nice ones too, but this is our number 1 now. It is bigger than in the pictures and it is just perfect. Beautiful decorated, very clean, plenty of towels, extra’s like flowers, local candy and cookies, very welcoming. Good outside seating too, because most of the times you get chairs outside at cottages that aren’t comfortable at all. Charles showed us all the animals, which was great to see. Our most favorite places that we visited were Fowey and St.Ives. In Fowey we had lunch at Rick Steins 2x, which was great and in St.Ives I recommend the Beach Cafe. Beautiful place and delicious food!
Ideal base for exploring
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was clean and Charles was really helpful if there was anything that we needed, he even lent us a couple of backpacks because we had forgotten ours!
The Welsummer cottage was just right for our family of four and we thought the location was great if you are happy not to have a beach within walking distance. We had a lovely time cycling the Camel Trail, walking the coastal paths around Padstow, Polzeath and Rock and visiting Restormel Castle and the lovely old church in Withiel.
The cottage is located within half an hour of a number of major attractions such as the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Padstow, Rock, Port Isaac, Boscastle, Tintagel, Charlestown (where Poldark was filmed) and Wadebridge.
Nearby beaches include Polzeath, Constantine Bay, Daymer Bay, Rock, Watergate Bay.
Great walking from the cottage; entrance to the 27-mile long Saints Way (one of Britain's most popular walking tracks) within 2 miles and a number of great circular walks possible from the cottage.
For keen cyclists, the Camel Trail entrance is located less than five miles away, adjacent to a number of bike hire providers. Other trails are located nearby.
For those who enjoy wine, Camel Valley Vineyard is located within ten minutes drive. St Austell Brewery and Healys Cyder Farm are also within half an hours drive.
Stately houses Lanhydrock and Pencarrow can be reached within less than 20 minutes.
