Addingham, Nr Ilkley, Yorkshire - Peaceful location surrounded by open farmland
Mrs Holly Flather
About Mrs Holly Flather
Our family moved to Low Sanfitt Farm in 2003 and whilst renovating our new home we lived in Low Sanfitt Cottage for a year. The cottage is attached to our farmhouse but enjoys complete privacy. There is a separate cottage garden and two parking places allocated for the Cottage. It was in 2005 that we let it out for the first time so other people could experience the enjoyment of staying in this cute, cosy cottage for their holidays. In March 2017 we upgraded and refurbished the cottage and it is now a chic and stylish haven away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We have welcomed many happy holiday makers including walkers, cyclists, friends, families, honeymooners and more, many who have returned year after year.

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location
We had a fabulous week at the cottage. It was perfect inside and out. The furnishings and fittings are all really good quality and very tasteful with everything that you could need. The welcome pack was fabulous including a bottle of wine and some gorgeous chocolate brownies. The location is great with Addingham and Bolton Abbey within walking distance and Ilkley and Skipton both a very short car journey away. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners living next door. Our dog especially loved playing in the adjacent orchard and going to see his new friend Elsa over the wall 😊 Overall a fabulous week and we can’t wait for our next visit.
Thank you for your lovely words, I’m so glad you enjoyed your time in Yorkshire. You certainly brought the sunshine with you. You are welcome back when ever you are ready.
Lovely well furnished cottage
Beautiful cottage in some ways too well furnished it made you nervous and a bit unrelaxed to be using it.
Found the kitchen very dark unless all lights were on and the cupboards so full with China and serving dishes that there was no room to store the food we had brought. Disappointed that the oven had not been cleaned and 4 out of 6 mugs were chipped. Shame there wasn’t a dishwasher too.
But the setting it lovely and there is an enclosed shingle garden which is safe for dogs/children and use of the orchard was really appreciated. We couldn’t use the field for walking as it had been sprayed with cow dung and our dogs either eat or roll in this type of manure.
Thank you so much for your constructive comments.
I shall ensure that the chipped mugs are replaced immediately and that the cupboards in the kitchen are re-arranged to accommodate guests provisions. My usual cleaner was away last week and the oven must have been missed, many apologises for this.
Unfortunately as to when our local farmer sprays the fields is out of our hands and this happens just once a year. It was unfortunate that this coincided with your visit.
Our cottage has been decorated to a high standard for our guests to fully enjoy and I can only apologise that you felt uncomfortable with this.
I trust the rest of the week went well for you and you had a good journey home.
Just what we needed
Nice place. Close enough to ilkley but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful countryside. Dogs loved the little medow at the bottom to play in safely. And walked them across the fields to the reservoir. We were not in to much during the day as came to soak up the Tour De Yorkshire (well my husband did) although the weather was stunning we made use of the little fire most nights. Wi-fi pretty good if you need it. If you get time try piccolos and bistro Saigon in town both 2nd time visits and the food is amazing ( book the roof terrace for a special treat)
So glad you had an enjoyable time here.
Beautiful cottage in a great location x
There are many public footpaths in the area, with Bolton Abbey just is a short drive away or a 45 minute walk, We are situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the market town of Skipton has markets on a Mon, Wed, Fri & Sat. Ilkley is a beautiful and genteel town with a Bettys tea room and of course the famous Ilkley Moor. A little further a field (45 minutes drive) there are Caves and Waterfalls to explore as well as the Yorkshire Three Peaks for the more active!
The nearest airports are Leeds/Bradford - 15 miles away and Manchester airport - 75 miles away.
