The Watermark is one of the most dramatic homes on Lummi Island, featuring 135 feet of private, no bank, South-facing beachfront. There are extensive patios overlooking the San Juan Islands to the front and an incredible estuary to the back. With three master suites, gourmet kitchen with luxury appliances and comfortable living spaces both inside and out, the Watermark is the perfect home for a relaxing vacation.

Our beautifully decorated family-friendly home looks out on Rosario Strait to Orcas, Cypress and Sinclair Islands. Enjoy watching seals, eagles, and heron from the living room with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows. During the summer months observe the unique reef net fishing fleet catches salmon in the bay. In the spring and summer, you may see the Orcas not far off the beach.

Each of the three spacious bedrooms is well-appointed with a king-size bed, large screen television, plenty of closet space and its own ensuite bathroom. One bedroom is on the main floor with two on the second. There is also a multi-purpose room great for yoga or for the kids to spread out their toys and games. This space may also be used as an additional sleeping area. If requested in advance, two premium, queen-sized inflatable mattresses with bedding can be made available.

The home comfortably sleeps six adults with plenty of extra room for kids. There is a minimum three night stay. Sorry, but we do not allow pets.

Spend your days relaxing on the beach, playing bocce ball on the regulation-sized court, or kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding. It’s an easy put in from the beach for kayaks, canoes, rowboats, or standup paddle boards. You can easily rent these in town prior to arriving on the island. Located a stone’s throw from Legoe Bay Marina, with its boat launch ramp and dry boat storage, the Watermark is also ideally-suited for guests with trailerable boats. Mooring buoy also available.

The Watermark is perfect for nature lovers with its freshwater pond to the back. Watch the birds and other wildlife from the comfort of the covered and heated deck or from the boardwalks that crisscross the pond. At the end of the day, enjoy the sunset in front of the fire pit on the front patio or roast hotdogs and s’mores at the fireplace on the back deck.

Saturdays on Lummi Island feature a seasonal Saturday market from June through August. Buy fresh produce and pastries, and the work of local artists have their work available for sale. On the island you will find three restaurants, the world famous Willows Inn featuring 2015 James Beard award winner, Blaine Wetzel, The Beach Store Cafe, and a weekend sandwich shop located next to the Islander store. The Islander is a small general grocery store which also carries beer and wine.

Lummi Island Concierge, a fantastic island resource, would be happy to take care of your grocery needs if you’d like to eat in. Or gather your own groceries on the way to the island in nearby Bellingham or Ferndale. Your kitchen at the Watermark is well-equipped with some basic essentials including cooking oil, sugar, flour, salt and pepper, baking soda and baking powder and coffee, and there is a gas-fired grill on the back deck.

The Island has a number of great massage therapists who can provide in home service. The Watermark is located within easy driving, walking or cycling distance from the ferry landing, grocery store, post office, and library, and adjacent to the Legoe Bay Marina, Legoe Bay Winery and Heartwood Joinery.

A short 10-minute ferry ride takes you from the mainland to Lummi Island, which has a year-round population of only 900 residents. Day trips can easily be made to Vancouver BC, Seattle or Mt Baker. You are a half hour from shopping destinations in Bellingham, Lynden, and the Canadian border.

Wonderful!

This home was everything we hoped for. The views were amazing. The owners thought of everything. The kitchen was stocked with spices, oil, condiments, paper products, cleaning supplies, etc. Spring water was provided. Even though there was a burn ban at the time of our stay, the fire pit was fueled by propane, so we could still enjoy a fire in the evenings. It was unusually warm while we were there, but the cross ventilation made it very comfortable. Screens would be a nice addition to keep the bugs out, though. We highly recommend this beautiful home!

Beautiful property for entertaining and several families

We were very impressed when we arrived. The house is extremely spacious, waterfront views from every bedroom and room in the house. The bedroom suites all have refrigerators and coffee machines and bathrooms within the suite so you are not on top of everyone staying in the home. The decor is high end, the kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and flatware/silverware/bakeware/etc so it is easy to cook large meals for a group.

The bonus room is good for children to stay in.

Lots of separate outdoor entertaining spaces in front and behind the house.

If staying here, bring your own bicycles, kayaks, boat as you must go off island to find these items and the boat/kayak is needed for fishing.

If we come back to Lummi, we would definitely rent again.

Wonderful House overlooking the San Juans

We had a wonderful time at this house over at extended Memorial Day weekend. This modern home with 3 full suites for bedrooms is a great place to stay while visiting Lummi Island. The media room was great for our kids when they had their fill of playing outside. The kitchen has everything for making meals at the house.

The house has a grand view of the San Juan Islands to the south and west and a calming view of a lowland area on the backside of the property.

We hope to return to the house in the future.
