About Angela

Originally from Michigan, I have been in New Orleans for 20 years and married a New Orleans native. We’re Both HUGE animal lovers and love to eat at the many restaurants New Orleans has to offer. We welcome you to New Orleans & hope you enjoy all the love we’ve put into our homes!

Angela purchased this house in 2014

Why Angela chose Faubourg Delachaise

We bought the house because we were captivated by the charming historic characteristics & absolutely loved the Uptown location. It's a hot area where everyone wants to live and you can walk just a few blocks to Magazine St (which is basically the shopping mecca of Uptown New Orleans). Also, being able to integrate a great backyard was key since not a lot of places in New Orleans even have backyards.

What makes this house unique

It's renovated it with lots of care and on a Luxury high-end level...our kitchen features a 6 burner Professional Thermador Range, designer VILA VICCI chandeliers, and amazing solid brass hardware. Plus we provide a fully equipped coffee bar. It’s a great mixture of history and modern finishes. We had the historic brick fireplaces whitewashed, kept the entire front facade & restored the original heart pine floors, etc. The photos are beautiful but the space itself is very sleek and relaxing, some say the photos don’t do it justice. When you walk in, it really captivates you and feels calming. We also made it very inviting where you could socialize with friends & family and enjoy an entire wall of glass doors spilling onto the yard. Another nice bonus is that the Bouligny Tavern is right around the corner, which is a nice upscale place to grab a cocktail & eat some excellent small plates (& it has a cute outdoor area.)

The house was great - but be careful!

  • 4 of 5

Everything was fantastic, ammenities, cleanliness, etc. Everything! I would only be careful to not damage anything. The owner takes it very seriously. We accidentally stained the couch (and came clean to the owner) and she tried to make us pay for the rest of her rentals for the next week/weekend, even though we had accidental damage insurance covering the whole couch. Other than that house was a good rent and the owner took care of us well.

Owner's Response: Steven was excellent at communication in the beginning and he was extremely friendly. He did report the sofa damage upon checking out. The sofa had a large 1 ft black dye stain from his wet belt that had permanently engrained itself into the leather. My housekeeper and I tried everything to get it out, and she told me that Steven even purchased leather cleaner as well to try and remove it. This was the first time I had ever used the Property Damage Protection Insurance benefits and I think we were both glad that he had it. It covered most of the cost to replace the entire sofa, except a few hundred dollars, (so if you ever had any doubts if it works, it did for the most part in this instance). Even though I immediately went locally and purchased a new sofa on the same day Steven checked out, the sofa couldn't get delivered for a couple days. Of course, I happened to get a SAME-DAY booking request for that night. Since it's a property that has luxury finishes, I felt disclosing the damages to the next guest was the right thing to do. Overall, I wished Steven would have mentioned the sofa stain immediately as opposed to waiting until he checked out to give me more ample time to replace it. With that said, I have not sent Steven any payment requests for other guests, but the damage to my sofa wasn't limited to the cost of the sofa but my $1600 booking didn't come to fruition either.

Beautiful Property & Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful girls' weekend at NOLA Swank. The house is as beautiful as the pictures show with lots of great little touches (toiletries, coffee, tea, etc.). The owner was very responsive to questions. Great location - walking distance to near by shops and restaurants and easy walk to St. Charles Avenue streetcar. We had a wonderful, relaxed time there.

Luxurious and relaxing spot for a girls weekend!

  • 5 of 5

I spent a weekend at nola SWANK, celebrating 20 years of friendship with 4 of my college roommates, and it was an absolutely perfect venue! The decor is bright and cheery and the details/amenities were much appreciated. The back patio was a wonderful spot for catching up with old friends on a spring night over a bottle of wine and the location was great. It was quiet and relaxed yet with easy access to neighborhood cafes and boutiques. It was a 10 min walk to the St. Charles streetcar line which took us right into the French Quarter whenever we wanted to revel in the lively tourist scene. A big thank you to Angela for being a flexible and great host to a group of ladies convening in New Orleans from various cities across the country!
