Looking to explore Coastal Georgia? Need a quiet place to unplug, relax, and recharge? This quaint cottage is located on five wooded acres for privacy, yet centrally located to Jekyll Island, Cumberland Island, Jacksonville, Brunswick and the Golden Isles. Newly renovated, this 1950s home has charm and modern conveniences. It has been stocked full with movies, books, and games to help your family reconnect and relax.

Jekyll Island is the most convenient and our favorite beach to visit during our stay at the Cottage. Jekyll is just two turns 'down the road'... an easy drive North. St Simons Island is also North. There are more restaurant and shopping options on St Simons, but also more people. : ) Cumberland Island is South approximately 20 miles. This national park is accessible only via ferry and is home to wild horses and abandoned vacation mansions of America's past wealthiest families. Jacksonville is about 45 minutes South and has Amelia Island and Jacksonville Beach to consider. The Jacksonville Zoo is amazing! From the Cottage, you can be in downtown Savannah in one and a half hours.

Cleaner than most hotels! While some vacation-rental-owners pocket your cleaning fee and just run a vacuum after each guest leaves, we spend every penny of your cleaning fee on actually cleaning. A professional cleaning service comes in and deep cleans after every guest. This includes washing every comforter and blanket! The beds are also equipped with water-proof mattress pads and pillow covers.

I hope you'll consider staying at the Cottage! We love the quiet, peaceful property while still being fairly close to several beaches. Message me with any questions!!

Great Oasis for our family of kids and pets

  • 4 of 5

Was a great, comfortable place to reconvene each night after setting out on a day long adventure to explore the Golden Isles - great access to Jekyll, Cumberland, St Simons. Awesome BBQ smoke house down the street (great atmosphere) at Stan's in Woodbine. Such a treat to be so close to the Georgia Coast Rail Trail. Great to have fenced in back yard for our dogs to play around.

Home away from home at White Oak, Ga.

  • 5 of 5

A pleasant country home away from hustle and bustle but close enough to shopping/activity in several directions. Having a pet dog, the fenced-in yard was a plus. Everything we needed was in the house. The walking trail across the highway helped keep us in shape.

Very nice place.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for 4 weeks in January-February, and found the house very much to our liking. The grounds are spacious, and we were visited by wild turkeys nearly every morning. The kitchen is modern and the bed comfortable. There is a large fenced area, with plenty of running room for our dog. We used the screened porch a lot. There was just one drawback. During a cold snap (temperature in the 20's) the heating system was not up to the job.

Charming Country Cottage in White Oak, GA.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in early December, 2017, at this cottage was quite pleasant!! We particularly appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the fluffy bath towels!! The cottage was spotless and everything we needed was provided. While there we enjoyed visiting surrounding areas--Jacksonville, Sea Island, and especially Jekyll Island which is only a few minutes away. And we enjoyed our daily visits from a flock of wild turkeys! The owner was very nice to work with. We would certainly recommend this cottage!!

Quiet area. Well maintained cottage that is stocked with everything you need.

  • 4 of 5

We had an extended stay here as we waited on our house to be built. The property manager was kind and prompt to help us with anything we needed. The owner was responsive to all communication and throughout our stay we quickly became friends (although we have never met in person). The cottage is well kept and quiet. The yard is large and great for our dog. We did endure Hurricane Irma while we were staying and lost power & water (as did the entire area). However, the house was safe from any flooding. We would stay here again 100%!

Would definitely stay again

Very quiet, plenty of room for 6-8 people and pets. Very well equipped. It is a drive to get anywhere, but there's no interruptions...no noise, no neighbors, etc. We had a great week. Bring bug spray!
