The village of Girasole is located in the province of Ogliastra. It is only 1 km away from the east coast of central Sardinia, which stretches along the Tyrrhenian Sea. Poteteraggiungere Girasole from the north and south very easily on the national road 125 Orintale Sarda (SS125) and from the west on the road 56 (SP 56) It is located about 5 km from the Arbatax ferry terminal. Girasole is very close to the fascinating tourist port of Santa Maria Navarrese, from where it is possible to make beautiful boat trips along the coast to visit the enchanting Cale. The sea on the Tancau district with its sandy beach is about 3 km (in front of an excellent restaurant). The Girasole coast has a wide white sandy beach with crystal clear water. It goes from the hamlet of Tancau sul Mare to the port of Arbatax in a wide arch of beach. About 2 km away, Tortoli, there are large supermarkets, and from here you can start a train journey in the mountains. The Little Green Train, which runs on a narrow-gauge railway, you can start a fantastic journey through the wildest parts of the island. (highly recommended). About 4 km south of Tortoli begins the Lido di Orri. It is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia. The beach is very long and wide and covers almost 16 km. The beautiful white sand beach is characterized by the fact that it falls gently towards the sea, which is why it is ideal for children's play. We highly recommend a trip to the mountains in Baunei, where then goes shortly after the center turn right towards Church of San Pietro (directions). Once on the mountain, you should look at the viewpoint Belvedere Do not miss reading (right following the signs on the light gravel) first then get a good road for about 10 km from the church (old leftovers of bread to catch for the wild pigs, donkeys, goats, etc.) There is so much to list, but that is beyond the scope here. But one thing is to be mentioned. On Golgo there is a walk to Cala Goloritzè with the famous rock needle Punta Caroddi. Good footwear is required for a journey time of about 1.5 hours. The Cala Goloritzè is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and should not be tackled (swimsuit and water for the return trip to remember) of boats. Girasole is certainly an excellent starting point for visiting Sardinia.
