Good rural location from which to explore various castles and gardens, and not too far from Speyside distilleries.
Natasha was the most welcoming of hosts! Her cottage is absolutely fantastic with stunning views. We had everything we needed and more! Natasha helped us map out our outing to the Highland Games which was a wonderful experience. I would stay with Natasha again when I come back to this beautiful country!
June stay in the Bothy
Could not have enjoyed our stay more! The property was immaculately clean, welcoming and exactly as described. The area was peaceful and relatively accessible (even without a car).
Our hosts went above and beyond at every occasion to make our stay perfect and we could not have asked for more.
Have recommended Natasha, Dave and the Bothy to everybody that will listen!
Very nice cottage
Had a brilliant stay here very nice property and the family were very nice and made us feel very welcome will definitely stay again
Awesome visit in ideal country setting
This bothy was an outstanding place, ideal for those looking for rest and peace in an idyllic country setting, yet only 15 minutes to St. Andrews. Cheers to great hospitality and friendly hosts!
We are delighted that you had a wonderful stay and such great weather for it too! Just to point we are only 15 minutes away from Aberdeen (it's about 90 minutes to St Andrews). :)
Very nice bothy!
This bothy is off the beaten track - in the middle of farm land up a dirt road. The area is spectacular and quiet. The unit itself is attached to the main house, but still offers ample privacy. Natasha has furnished it with love and luxury. The bedroom is so cozy and the linens are top notch - you'll have a hard time getting out of bed, until you remember the heated floors downstairs and the spectacular shower/bath calling your name.
The kitchen is well equipped - we didn't prepare any food but there were supplies to do so. We enjoyed the welcoming treat! On nights were were home before dinner, we made cheese, meat, and fruit platters and ate on the back picnic table and enjoyed the vista that stretches forever. This is a great location for exploring distilleries and castles, and taking walks along the River Dee or through the small towns in the area.
Enjoy whisky trails, Cairngorms National Park, Royal Deeside, Castle Trail (Dunnotter, Crathes, Drum), coastal cycling trail, Highland cattle, birdwatching, Go Ape at Crathes Castle, salmon jumping at the Bridge of Feugh, winter sports, salmon fishing, heated open air sea water swimming in 1930s Lido followed by fish and chips and deep fried Mars bars in Stonehaven (!)
