"Indigo Dreams" is the perfect choice for your Indoor/Outdoor Palm Springs-area vacation. This eco, designer home is situated on a secured, spacious view lot, larger than 1/3 of an acre, so there will always be ample privacy and sun, year round.

Admire the view as you lounge on 7 new comfortably padded, modern chaise lounges, or on one of the provided pool floats and noodles. Your chef will enjoy the "natural gas" stainless steel bbq with all the grilling accessories you might want - we even stock cedar planks for your grilled salmon. There is a nice outdoor living room set-up and a choice of two outdoor dining areas for 8 - one in the shade with overhead fan and the other drenched in the sun. The huge backyard is drenched with Sun all day, but know that there's always refuge under the modern-angled patio cover and 3 large Market Umbrellas easily wheel around to create strategic shade where desired.

While you soak in the hot spa and play in the fun pool, rest assured that the saline-based, chlorine-free water won't harm your skin, hair, eyes - or the environment....and don't forget to come prepared to tell stories as you get cozy around the large natural gas fire pit at night while the color LED pool lights dazzle you in the background.

The home is tastefully furnished in a modern/contemporary style with polished concrete floors throughout, soaring cathedral ceilings in the great room with large HDTV and modern glass fireplace, and an open, indoor/outdoor floor plan that will make you happy. Home is TechSmart: Nest thermostat, iHome in each room, computerized pool/spa controls, streaming internet/movies to the TVs, and high speed, secure wireless internet throughout, and monitored alarm system.

Four bedrooms (K, Q, Q, F) with luxurious, quality mattresses, down pillows/comforters (with alternatives) and high thread count linens will help you get a good nights rest.

There's a new, full-sized high efficiency washer/dryer in the garage, along with a bicycle, a massage table for your romantic or therapeutic touch, and there's room for a large vehicle (two more can park in the driveway). Lots of eco/green features/upgrades to make this a fun and interesting, yet guilt-free low-carbon vacation.

About Joe

We're Doug and Joe. We feel in love with the Palm Springs Desert Area almost 20 years ago. Doug is a college professor, and Joe is an entrepreneur and certified green building professional.

Why Joe chose Cathedral City Cove

We first discovered the Cathedral City Cove neighborhood almost 20 years ago. Over the years, we rented dozens of vacation homes in Palm Springs, Cathedral City and Rancho Mirage, and we found that homes in 'The Cove' area of Cathedral City had much bigger lots with better views. Also, regular Palm Springs visitors know that the desert wind can be very bad at times. North Palm Springs is the windiest area, but sometimes the wind even spreads to Central & South Palm Springs. Protected by a circle of the Santa Rosa Mountains to the South, and giant San Jacinto Mountain to the West, 'The Cove' has one of the least windy micro-climates in the entire desert. We are only 10 minutes from downtown Palm Springs on one side and 10 minutes to Rancho Mirage's The River or El Paseo's fine shopping and galleries on the other side. Best of all, good desert hikes are walking distance all around our neighborhood!

Our home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We spent our Christmas at Indigo Dreams and it was amazing! The home is exactly as described. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked a lasagna Christmas dinner and the kitchen had all the utensils needed to prepare and serve it.

On our last night at Indigo Dreams we held a little dinner party with our local Palm Springs friends and the kitchen and living room was big enough to accommodate everyone.

We loved the big backyard and spent much of our time enjoying the jacuzzi during the day and the backyard fire pit at night. The fire pit came in handy during the chilly evenings.

I especially loved being able to program the pool lights at night. So many different colors to choose I couldn't decide which color to light the pool! Lol

I can't say enough about the view of the mountains and Cathedral City from the backyard. It is breathtaking! We took a lot of family photos with the snow capped mountains in the background.

There were four bedrooms and each bed had enough covers to keep you warm. There were also closets full of extra blankets if needed. The bathrooms were well stocked with towels and shampoo.

The owner Joe was very responsive to all of my questions and concerns. Joe was just an email or phone call away.

The neighborhood was quaint and quiet. We didn't leave the house much, only to pick up our food and drinks for Christmas at a nearby Supermarket.

Indigo Dreams was a amazing place and we will defiantly be staying there again!

It's our home away from home!

Great Place!!!

  • 5 of 5

We spend Thanksgiving week here. We were two couples and three kids and we were very comfortable. The house was clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked and we had fun cooking our holiday meal there. We enjoyed the pool - it was nice and warm and the kids enjoyed how it lit up at night. We had a moment when it didn't quite work, but the owner was responsive and helped us right away. The location is great and we saw a lot of the surrounding area. We especially enjoyed the living desert museum. We hope to go back soon!

so peaceful and home from home

  • 5 of 5

We rented Joe's place for a week. This was our first visit from the UK to Palm Springs and Cathedral City proved to be a very good location to base ourselves. We were a few minutes drive away from two good food stores; Trader Joes and Wholefoods Market and a few blocks from the I 10 which took us to most of the places we wanted to visit.

The home was perfect for us. At home we live in a very quiet neighbourhood so it was lovely to be amongst a similar set up here. We spent each morning and evening outside, enjoying the warmth and the clear skies; seeing many shooting stars.

Joe has thought of everything when it comes to equipping the place. Clearly a lot of thought and consideration has gone into what guests may need during their stay.

Everything was lovely and clean and fresh, with great linens and towels. Although we didn't use them the microwave, oven and grill were spotless - like new.

Everything is as described in the property rental description and Joe was very efficient in coming back to my initial questions and on checking we had arrived safely and that we had everything we needed. There was even a lovely 'Welcome' gift on our arrival.

We can highly recommend this property - we only wish we could have stayed longer.

Okay, not great.

  • 3 of 5

Good little vacation house for those not expecting much. The house is probably 3 star and the back yard is about the same. The pictures make it look a little nicer than it is. The interior of the house is dated and you can definitely tell its used primarily for renting out on sites like homeaway. The back yard and pool are okay, but you can tell the pool and some of the furnishings are dated. The owner is okay; however, I've definitely worked with friendlier and more flexible owners on these types of stays. The kitchen seems like a newer Ikea kitchen and the beds are comfortable.

Owner's Response: I sincerely don't know what I did to make this guest unhappy enough to write such a biased review except perhaps the fact that he couldn't get a complimentary early check-in. I know that really seemed to bother him since he was only staying 2 nights. If he reads this, I sincerely apologize for that, and hope he comes back so we can go out of our way to make him happier next time. Unfortunately, we had a rare occasion where we had guests checking out the same morning as his afternoon check-in, so we couldn't promise an early complimentary check-in as requested. In fact, we couldn't even offer that if he agreed to pay an Early Check-In Fee. When we see the condition our home is left in at check-out time, only then do we know whether we could get it thoroughly cleaned to our high standards in time to still offer an earlier than normal check-in to the next guest. We happily offer that when we can, which is the majority of the time, but unfortunately when there's a rare same day turn over, we probably can't. :(

The oasis

  • 5 of 5

Wow, what a place! Very well appointed, very well labelled and looked after. We loved the pool, the gas grill, the ice cube maker, the evaporative cooler, the interior design...everything really. The neighborhood is rather tranquil, but everything can be reached quickly by car. We had great trips to Joshua Tree NP and various canyons around Palm Springs and were always glad to return to unwind and cool down. Too bad we never got bored - the DVD collection also looked promising, and we never got to use it! We couldn't think of anything else one could ask for in a place like this. We'd come back here if we ever make it to the Coachella Valley again.

Map

Our home is located in the desirable Upper Cathedral City Cove neighborhood. We're on a nice one block long street in an area of large view lots - it's quiet, like a cul-de-sac. Who wants to be right on top of their neighbors? This lot is nearly .4 acres in size, letting you stretch out in all directions. The views from the house and beautifully backyard are phenomenal in most any direction you look. In contrast to much of Palm Springs, especially the North section, this neighborhood is known as one of the most wind protected areas in the desert, so those Spring winds won't spoil your tanning session by the pool or your outdoor dining experience. While all the desert attractions are only a few minutes drive away, you can nearly walk to a nice collection of restaurants - casual (e.g., Sunshine Cafe, La Tablita, India Oven) or elegant (e.g., Highly Acclaimed Dish Creative Cuisine, Cello's Bistro, Trilussa). Within a mile there's: Trader Joe',s Desert IMAX, Mary Pickford Multiplex, Desert Ice Castle

Other Activities: Nice desert hikes just a short walk or drive away. Miniature golf and Knott's Soak City are very close. Centrally located only minutes from 3 Downtown areas: Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Rancho Mirage. For those attending nearby weddings, The Parker Palm Springs and The Cree Estate are only a few minutes away.

Golf: There are over 100 golf courses just a short drive away.
