Greet each day with a gorgeous sunrise on the water and start planning your island exploration. Or relax at the beautifully landscaped 6 acre oceanfront Islander on the Beach Resort where you will find my 2nd floor ocean view end unit condo, #222. Enjoy air conditioned comfort inside the 372sf studio or relax with ocean breezes on the roomy lanai while reading a book or sipping a beverage at the bistro set.
Comfort and style inside include travertine floors, granite counters, queen bed, and full size sleeper sofa. Prepare small meals with the microwave, blender, toaster oven, and mini-fridge. There's a coffee maker and tea kettle also. Nearby BBQs give nice cooking options instead of eating out every night. Enjoy your barbecued food at the adjacent picnic tables or while lounging at the beach, pool, or spa. You'll find a bar for tropical drinks and music poolside while next door are more dining and drinking choices.
2nd floor end unit in 3 story building means more privacy with one less shared wall and the extra side window allows more natural light and better ocean views. My Islander on the Beach #222 suite has 372 square feet of living space plus the lanai of about 67 square feet. A comfy queen bed and full sized sleeper sofa accommodates up to 4 people. Prepare simple meals with the microwave, toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, and fridge. Outdoor barbecues are nearby at the pool area!
Samsung LED TV with cable TV, free high speed WiFi, and Blue Ray DVD player(with nearby Redbox rental kiosk) will entertain you when you are not venturing out.
Tranquil sunrises greet you daily and make a great start to a relaxing day. Enjoy the ocean breezes too! Go for a walk on the long beach or lounge around the pool. Island exploration is easy too from this central location on the Coconut coast. With northern points like Princeville or south to Poipu all reachable in 45 minutes of leisurely driving.
Many of my guests say they love to leave the windows and sliding door to the balcony open at night to enjoy the fresh air and sounds of the waves.
You can arrive at the suite at any time after the designated check in time. The front desk is serviced until 11pm but you can go directly to the room if you come in late. You have full use of the pool, hot tub, and barbecues. Don't forget to relax at the Tiki Bar too.

Feel free to contact me as I am happy to answer questions. I am located in southern California. There is an on island contact as a backup for questions or concerns. The suite will contain WiFi and contact information and I will send it to you prior to your arrival along with how to obtain the key.
Adjacent to Coconut Marketplace including an ABC Store, restaurants, and shops. The popular Trees Lounge and Lava Lava Beach Club are next door for some cool libations, tasty pupus(appetizers), and local music. Easy walk to more shops, drug store, groceries, and restaurants in Kapaa town. Next door to bike and kayak rentals store. Nearby laundromat in town.
The golden beaches of the Coconut Coast may be the area's biggest draw. Unwind at Anahola Beach Park, whale watch at Donkey Beach, or join the surfers at Kealia Beach to the north. 3 waterfalls are less than 15 minutes away. Lydgate Beach Park in Wailua has two lava rock enclosed ocean pools that are perfect places for families and first-time snorkelers. The beach at the resort is best for walking.
My suite is located in a quiet part of the resort...not too close to the pools or shops but close enough if you know what I mean. And being on the 2nd floor means good privacy and views.
DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT:
7.4 miles – about 15 minutes From Lihue Airport (LIH) to Islander on the Beach Resort Leaving the airport stay in the right lane and turn right going NORTH on Highway 51 (Kapule Hwy). It becomes Highway 51 or Kuhio Hwy, 1.5 miles north of the Airport. Continue north on Highway 51 for 4.1 miles into the town of Wailua. Turn RIGHT into Coconut Marketplace on Aleka Loop. Turn RIGHT at the stop sign and continue behind the Coconut Marketplace and the Islander on the Beach Resort will be 1/8 mile down on your left. Park in any of the free parking spaces and pick up a parking pass at the front desk.
Other Things to Note
-Hawaii tax of 14.42% will be added onto the night rate and collected with your payment
-I ask for a 25% deposit up front and then the balance is due 30 days before check-in
-There are no parking, WiFi, or resort fees once you arrive. Hurray!
-There is no daily maid service but there is a contact number should you require extra cleaning. For stays longer than a week, I will provide you a free room clean mid way through your stay.
Frequently Asked Questions FAQ
• Is this a 1 bedroom condominium?
The Islander on the Beach is a condotel managed by Aston. All of the rooms are individually owned with some being rented by Aston, and others like mine, being rented out by the individual owners or offsite property managers. My suite is studio size: 372 square feet with a lanai. Most units are about this size and have similar furnishings. There is a kitchenette in the room: fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and blender. Use the outdoor barbeques to expand your dining options.
A nice Laundromat is just south of Foodland and is clean with coin machines available.
• What's the difference between my suite, renting from Aston, or some other travel agency or website?
The difference is price and choice of room. My suite is less expensive overall and is a 2nd floor end unit with ocean views in the Hawaii building so you know exactly what you are getting. I also take more care in ensuring my suite is updated and maintained thoroughly. You will not have maid service during your stay but we stock plenty of towels(bath and beach), tissues, toilet paper, and toiletries to ensure your comfort. You can contact me if you would like additional supplies or any extra cleaning services.
• Is this an ocean view suite?
YES. And it is not just visible out on the lanai sticking your head around the corner but can also be enjoyed from inside the suite.
• Is there a kitchen?
It is a mini kitchen with microwave, toaster oven, blender, bar sized fridge, and coffee maker. BBQs are located next to the pool.
• What is there to do?
For short stays, you may want to keep it simple and stay at the resort for a relaxing time and walk over to the Coconut Marketplace or into Kapaa town. For longer stays, you will want a car to explore the beautiful scenery and variety found on Kauai. Book a rental car ahead of time and you may find Alamo with the best rates
• What is the bedding arrangement?
The suite is ideal for 4 people...a queen size bed and full size sleeper sofa
• Do we need our own beach towels?
There are 4 beach towels in the room
• Is there a resort fee?
If you are booking directly from an owner like myself, there is no resort fee. If you book from Aston, there is about an $18/day fee.
• What about WiFi?
High speed wired or WiFi internet is free in the room
• Does the suite have air conditioning?
Yes. And nice ocean breezes. The ceiling fan(or small desk fan) will also offer natural cooling if you don't want A/C
• Where is suite #222 located?
It is on the east end of the 3 story Hawaii building, 2nd floor. The view of the ocean is to the northeast. It is accessible by 1 flight of stairs as there are no elevators at the resort. There is an ice machine nearby.

I was born and raised in Vancouver Canada and got an Engineering Physics degree from the University of British Columbia. I now call San Diego, California home and enjoy the nice weather, golf, and beaches we have around here. Why Tony Cannon chose Wailua
My first tropical destination coming from Canada was Hawaii. Ever since then it has had a soft place in my heart. I like the laid back lifestyle of Hawaii and the friendly people. I have visited 4 of the islands, and Kauai seems the most exotic. I chose the Islander on the Beach because the suites have been nicely renovated and it is a great location to explore either north or south on the island. My #222 is an end unit so I like having one less wall shared and the additional lighting from an extra window.
What makes this Condo unique
Ocean view. Quiet location. 2nd floor so only 1 flight of stairs but more security, better view, and less bugs than on the ground floor. End unit has an extra window and one less wall shared.

Modern, compact and roomy
Beautiful landscaping, lovely pool, excellent accommodations. Although compact it was quite roomy.
We had stayed at Islander on the Beach a couple of times in the past, so we were thrilled to find Tony's condo available. The space was clean, well-equipped, and the view was awesome. We could sit on the lanai and see and hear the waves roll in. The location is great; although there have long been a number of empty retail spaces at the Coconut Marketplace, those that are there have nice merchandise, and the Country Market has a terrific deli counter where you can have breakfasts and lunches made to order. It's an easy drive into Kapa'a for more shopping and restaurant options (we like the Olympic Cafe) and to access the Kaua'i Path for walking/jogging/biking. Tony was great to work with and was very responsive when we contacted him about some water leakage during a heavy rainfall. He immediately got the property management on it, and repairs were made within hours. We'd love to stay at Tony's condo again the next time we are on Kaua'i.
Close to beach
Great location on the ocean. Walk to stores and restaurants. Nice pool and bar area with grills for simple meals. You can hear the waves all night. Great supply of beach equipment waiting for you on the deck.
Nice condo, especially being an end unit. Nicely furnished, looks like a new couch. Great location on the island. Beach chairs and mats on balcony to take to beach, Not able to use laundry facilities on site., b/c unit is privately owned. Otherwise, nice condo!

I booked Tony’s place for a week for my parents. They said the place worked great and the enjoyed their stay! The unit was clean and had great views of the ocean from the second floor lanai. They said they would book again!
Awesome accommodation and location!
This condo is exactly as described. The view of the ocean from the lanai was perfect for watching the sunrise. The suite was adequate for 2 people and had all the amenities we needed. The complex is well kept, the pool, hot tub and bbq’s were awesome. A variety of restaurants and the new Island Market Store are within walking distance and have everything you need for your stay. Tony is great to deal with and always quick to reply. We would definitely stay again!
Brad and Sandra stayed for 3 weeks at my place which gave them a good chance to explore the island, relax at the resort, and call my place home for a while. As mentioned, the barbecues open up nice possibilities for home cooked meals but Kapaa has a lot of choices within walking distance too! I enjoyed having them as guests and I hope they return the next time paradise calls!!
