The cabin was clean and decent but the mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. The cabin overall was a bit dark and the sofa and carpet were stained. The coffee pot was very smalll and only had a charcoal bbq grill which we couldn’t even use do to high fire hazard conditions so we had to cook everything inside the small kitchen. The location and the neighborhood was great.
Thank you for your review! We're sorry you did not find the beds to your softness. The tall trees surrounding the property can keep the cabin a bit shaded most of the time. We apologize we could not sneak the carpet cleaning in right before your stay but rest assured they came as soon as you left. We are a little confused about the coffee pot because we hand delivered a bigger one less than two months ago but it appears that it is no longer on the premises - we are sorry about that. While Tahoe was a bit smokey because of the fires we are unaware of any ban against using charcoal grills. We are so glad you liked the location and hope you stay again with us soon!
The house is cute & charming but needs a lot of upgrades.
The house has a lot of potential however, beds are very uncomfortable. Most don’t even have bed frames. Cabinets & drawers are dated & don’t work properly. Appliances too. House wasn’t very clean, hot water unreliable, and the heater, heated unevenly. Some rooms were freezing while others were too hot to sleep in. We found multiple spiders as well.
I'm torn with this review because there were many good things about this home: location was convenient, the neighborhood was quiet, the house was plenty warm and cozy with a nice layout, perfect size for two families. But there are a few things that would make the stay more comfortable. First, the beds. The master mattress was decently comfortable, but since there was no head board and it wasn't against a wall, the pillows fell off the bed at night. All of the other beds were rock hard, felt like sleeping on box springs. There wasn't an owner's manual, so we had to search for, and then call to ask how to use the wifi and tv. Lastly, there were no hand towels, only bath towels, and there was a total of one roll of toilet paper for two bathrooms.
Great cabin for family vacay!
We took 10 of our family members on vacation and it worked out really well!! The property itself was beautiful and a great location in regards to King's beach. I believe it was 4 miles away. Communication with the rental place was great. The only thing I would make a note about is you pick up the keys from the rental property office which is about about 15 minutes away. So you are backtracking essentially adding 30 minutes to your drive if you are coming from I-80. Other than that I highly recommend this property.
A perfect summer get-away
5 adults and a dog stayed very comfortably for the 4th of July holiday. Such a relaxing location, far enough away to be peaceful in the woods, and close enough to enjoy the Lake's commodities. We loved having the charcoal grill, and the kitchen was a good size, as was the table and the couch. The beds were comfortable and the deck was perfect for drinking morning coffee!
Very nice and comfortable!
We had a wonderful few days at this cabin, and were luckily able to extend our stay by one day since we got snowed in! The cabin was comfortable and well appointed. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because there was no land line, and our phones did not have service at the cabin. Also, the internet went down part way through our stay (possibly due to the storm) so we were pretty cut off. We had to repeatedly walk in the storm several blocks to a location that we found where our phones had service in order to make contact with family members who were trying to drive out. These problems could have been avoided if the cabin had a landline phone.
