Terrace view of Rome!
My husband and I chose this apartment because of the view and it paid off. The terrace gives you a spectacular view of Rome to sit with a glass of wine and talk about all the wonderful sites we visited during the day.
I had read about the number of steps involved to reached the building and then the apartment itself. They were all true, so don't be faint of heart for a healthy workout to reach this apartment. It is worth it. We didn't have a problem at 55 & 58 yrs of age. Our driver dropped us off at the bottom of the hill on the main road along the Tiber and directed us up a narrow walkway with an incline to a narrow alley to reach the building. I phoned our contact and she was on her way and met her within 10 mins of reaching the alley. We found walking down the alley to set of 8-10 steps to a road was the easiest access for walking, not the steps Olga told us about up the alley.
Olga was great in giving us a tour of the apartment and the general surrounding area with a map. She asked if we wanted a driver for our departure that would meet us right outside the door of the building for only $7 euros more than the taxi rate to the airport. Sad thing is - He never showed! We hailed a cab on the corner and made it to our flight with plenty of time. Bad thing as Olga never responded to my text or call that morning of our departure. She respond the day before when I texted to confirm our departure time. That was the only disappointing quality of service of Weekey, but an important service for the renter.
The apartment was spacious with a big living and dining area with views of Rome. Small half bath that doubles as a storage closet off this area. The kitchen is very narrow, but adequate for our needs of chilling beverages and snacks. I wouldn't cook a meal in there- but who would! You're on holiday with tons of restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the room big. We had plenty of closets and hangers. The main bathroom was narrow. We didn't mind the step down tub The toilet started to leak from the wall our last night and morning there. I let Olga know via text but no response :( We figure it's an ongoing issue with old piping,
The laundry room is located on the side of the terrace in an old storage area with all kinds of stuff in there. The washer and dryer worked great. I'd just would tidy up all the items being stored there and in the 1/2 bath.
The location was convenient to bus and taxis and walking to see the sites!
Beautiful view! Fantastic location. Clean and bright. Very comfortable and spacious.
Had a wonderful 3 night stay. Perfect size for 4 adults. Loved the outdoor area...what a view. Used the laundry facilities which worked perfectly. Check in was easy and efficient. A lot of stairs for people with mobility issues. We did not have an issue with the stairs and were happy for exercise after all the wonderful wine and pasta we consumed. Stairs were worth the view! Highly recommend this apartment.
thank you Darrell hope to see you again!
Great Place to stay in Rome....
We loved our stay at this Trastevere Villa, our hostess Olga did a great job introducing us to the villa, the view from the deck alone is well worth the staying here, the villa was clean and other than a few electrical problems which was no big deal we had a great stay. Being able to walk to pretty much all the main attractions of Rome was a wonderful for us, we didn't rent a car or take a bus until we left Rome. Its real close to many great restaurants, if we ever come back to Rome all of would stay here again.
thank you Thomas!
Great Location & Views
We had an outstanding stay.
thank you Timothy!
Run down apartment
We just left an amazing VRBO in Paris and were hopeful that this apartment would be just as nice. We payed extra for a late check in at 1:00 in the morning, only to find out the person who was supposed to meet us to let us in wasn’t there. After 15 tense minutes standing on a dark street with our children and all of our luggage, the apartment contact showed up but was very unprofessional. I had read the recent reviews prior to arriving that complained about the poor upkeep, so I called the rental company and they assured me that the place would be everything I expected...clean and in good repair. Well, it was anything but clean. I’m not sure what my “cleaning fee” was used for, but definitely not cleaning. The apartment is very run down and lacked the thoughtful touches that made our Paris flat so amazing. The couches were very stained, there was dust on everything, like it has never been dusted, dead plants and leaves on the patio, a laundry room that looks as if it has NEVER been cleaned, a shower head that sprays at the wall, making it impossible to use properly...the list goes on and on. My wife wasn’t feeling well or we would have asked for a refund and stayed elsewhere. I would recommend staying in Trastevere, but not here! Don’t be lured in by the great view. It’s not worth the trade off of a nice flat. It could be an amazing place if they spent some money on it and did some necessary upgrades/repairs and took better care of it, but not as it is currently.
Great location, great view - little lacking on details
This is a perfect place in terms of location and the view cannot be beat. It would be perfect if the apartment were maintained better. Little things like Nescafe machine not working well, shower head, sprays everywhere but straight, popping breakers whenever more than 2 or 3 things running, could use a good cleaning, etc. If you're okay with less than perfect maintenance, you will love this place.
This district, thanks to its strategic location, is an ideal starting point to visit Rome. Most of the attractions are within walking distance and the area is also well connected by metro and public buses. In a few minutes you can reach extraordinary places such as the majestic St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums and Castel Sant'Angelo. The streets around the Vatican belong to the Borgo area, with its small roads full of restaurants and souvenir shops. The Prati district is a favorite destination for shopping enthusiasts who head to Via Cola di Rienzo. Crossing the river, you can reach the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and all the major attractions of the city
