Hip, Spacious Downtown Urban Apartment

We had an awesome experience in this apartment! Beautifully decorated, quiet and clean! The bed was very comfortable and the location was close to many restaurants/attractions! Parking was never an issue (aside from the historic blizzard that occurred during our stay.) We will be staying here again for upcoming visits to Minneapolis!

We enjoyed staying in this apartment for the most part. The place is very spacious, the location is central to so much, and the decor was really well done. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed with dishes, pots and pans. Pack your own coffee, there's a nice coffee maker but there was no coffee to go with it. There was also a nice teakettle if you like tea.

We did experience some challenges however, which is why it wasn't 5 stars. We stayed here between Christmas and New Year, and Minneapolis is COLD this time of year! The lack of on site parking would not have been a big deal, except wind chill was down to -22. The parking garage was .5 miles away according to my step counter, and that's just too far in the cold. We only used it once, then tried to find closer parking, which we did on the street (mostly). One time, we even got a spot right in front of the place, which was super nice. This would not be a problem in warmer weather for sure, but it was a downside in -22.

Speaking of the cold, the apartment was very cold and drafty. The fireplace in the bedroom was not working during our stay, and when we checked in, the living room wall unit wasn't working either until I finally found and reset it with the right remote control. There are radiators in the bathroom and bedroom, and unlimited hot water in the shower which helped. However my youngest daughter chose to sleep in the coat closet off the living room because it was the warmest spot. She kept the one space heater in there and stayed toasty. There was definite wind coming in around doors and windows. So if you're staying here during winter and happen to be someone who is bothered by the cold like me, pack extra warm... layers, extra blankets, robes, slippers, etc. I'm very glad I packed layers and blankets, I for sure needed them.

Also, this basement apartment is not fully separated from the rest of the house. There are stairs going up to the landlord's place, and there was a curtain and unlocked door at the top of those stairs. When we figured out what it was, we went right back downstairs and left it alone. No one bothered our belongings, but it was a little disconcerting.

Rob did make up for the inconveniences we experienced on check in, and is a very nice person. I would stay here again, just probably not in the winter time! Cold is not my favorite. Would love to visit in summer. I imagine it would be perfect when it is not so cold!

Super awesome location in a nice neighborhood, loved it!

This place fit our needs just fine. A dehumidifier might be a good idea because there was a strong musty smell upon our arrival. The bathroom could use some attention as well: loose toilet seat, fixtures, sink stopper(couldn't figure it out.). Overall good location and nice stay.
