It's fantastic casa!

With more than half of the territory in protected area, the county of Sesimbra is a privileged place for those who like to enjoy nature. From Arrábida to Cabo Espichel, the green of the mountain range blends in perfectly with the blue of the sea, creating unique landscapes. They are areas of excellence for walks, observation of fauna and flora, sport and even radical activities.
The geographic characteristics of the terrain, with cliffs that precipitate over the sea, create optimum conditions for vertical activities, such as climbing and rappel. Both on the lower rocks, conducive to learning, and on steeper cliffs, accessible only to the more experienced, the feeling of being suspended several meters above the sea is unique. The winding rails surrounded by vegetation, which lead us to these places, make the delights of hikers and mountain bikers.
Sesimbra gastronomy is closely linked to fishing and the sea. Its aromas and flavors are reflected in the delicious dishes made with fish and seafood, but also in the sweets and products of the field, which due to the climate and geography have unique characteristics. The swordfish is one of the main delicacies of the local gastronomy. It gained popularity in the 1950s, through deep-sea sport fishing. The spectacular images of the captures carried the name Sesimbra beyond borders and gave a great boost to tourism. It can be made in multiple ways, but grilled steaks are the most sought after and can be found in most local restaurants. The Black Swordfish is another characteristic species of Sesimbra, where it has been fished for more than two decades. It has become a commercial and gastronomic reference, and is currently undergoing a certification process. Grilled, filleted, or with pea rice, are some of the traditional ways to present this species. During the Gastronomic Fortnight of Black Swordfish, the restaurants of the county show their versatility through dishes that excel at originality. But the cuisine of Sesimbrense does not end at sea. In the rural parish of Castelo, where agriculture has a great preponderance, you can find products such as Apple Camoesa, Winter Pear, Azoia fresh cheese, homemade bread and sweets, from which stand the Broas de Alfarim, the Zimbros, the Brisas do Castelo and the Admirals. Every year, in early autumn, these products are known by local restaurants during the Flavors of Autumn Gastronomic Week. Beekeeping is another of the activities growing in the county thanks to the natural conditions of the region. Beekeeping honey and derivatives are the center of attention at ZimbraMel, the country's largest fair dedicated to beekeeping, and that every year brings together more than 30 thousand visitors in the Castle of Sesimbra.
Sesimbra has always had a close connection to the sea. First through fishing, which for generations was the main activity of the community, and which still today has great importance for the life of the county, and later, through maritime-tourism activities. Sailing, scuba diving, deep-sea sport fishing and more recently canoeing, surfing, windsurfing and skimboarding are activities along the coastline of the county, perfect conditions.
There is a consensus among divers who frequent the Sesimbra Sea: the coast along the Cape Espichel is one of the best places in Europe to practice diving, accessible almost all year round. Calm waters, clear, sheltered from the winds and mountainous mountains rich in fauna and flora justify the affirmation.
