Two Master Suites With Private Bathrooms Along With A Third Bedroom & Bathroom.
. I have a full time On-Island Property Manager who lives nearby to make sure everything is maintained to keep this home pristine. Some of the best surf spots are straight out past the reef in front of the home and most days there is only one or two others out there catching the perfect waves that the North Shore is famous for. Fishing is also something you can do right from your beach or in your own Kayak.
Peter purchased this House in 2006

This house is in a very private location on a gorgeous swimming beach that was literally deserted every day. We enjoyed the kayaks, SUP's and watching the many turtles right out front. The house was comfortable and clean. The kitchen could have been a little better stocked with basic needs but did not deter an over all very enjoyable stay. A wonderful area if you want to escape hotels and tourists.
We took a family trip in August and stayed in this beautiful home for 2 weeks. We were greeted by Johnny who helped make our stay as nice as possible. I must say when we 1st arrived it was very hot inside the home, opening all the doors and windows helps some. There is a wall unit in the main living room which cools that room nicely. There were also a few more portable units brought in to cool us off, that worked great! There was a total 6 of us staying at the house and an additional 3 staying down the street but came over to hang out in the evenings. Plenty of room for everyone. It was pretty perfect. The best part of it I feel is sitting outside on the deck watching the beautiful ocean, and feeling the wonderful breeze. We had plenty of snorkel time right outside the house. We seen lots of fish and swam with the turtles, it was absolutely amazing! The turtles also came up on the beach, it was really great! The home is in a regular neighborhood so the beach is extremely private, its literally like having your own beach! Amazing. We met the neighbors, nice people. Up a tad bit early for us. But it was ok. Thats what comes with renting in a residential area. Well worth the trade off!! We are planning another visit within the next year. Can't wait to go back! This place is so peaceful and relaxing. I would buy this place in a heartbeat if it were up for sale!! I could go on for days about this place! Love love love it!!
Dirty and Disappointed!
To say this house description was completely incorrect is an understatement. We arrived to find the house not as described.
Let's break down the description to what is fact:
-The house is described as newly renovated. A newly renovated home should mean you can't see the ground through the wood floorboards!
-The house is described as having lush landscape for privacy. Privacy means you shouldn't see the neighbor’s junk-filled yard or into their house at all. That is not the case for this "Perfect Hawaiian Home"
-The house is described as having A/C. A 30”x20” wall unit in the living room of a 2200 sq. ft. home is not an adequate representation. There is a reason the mention of A/C is extremely limited and broad in the amenities.
Not in the description is how utterly dirty the house was when we arrived. Dead bugs littered the ground, window seals, inside cabinets, inside THE BLENDER in a cabinet, cob webs speckled in most corners of the house, and mouse and bug traps against the walls. The amount of stains, cooking grease, food particles left on cabinet knobs, inside the dish rack, on the sink were unimaginable for a supposedly “Perfect Hawaiian Home.” It was like Crystal completely ignored all cleaning. In fact, she dismissed our arrival all together, only opening the house 15 min. prior to arriving. This meant walking into a very stale, stuffy home.
To paint a clearer picture, our granddaughter was crawling around the house and when picked up, she had BLACK shins and feet! This was from only 30 minutes, while we stood shocked at the sight of this mess.
Peter’s response was lackluster. After several very emotional and disappointing emails explaining our dissatisfaction, his replies were to have the house re-cleaned by the same incompetent person that “cleaned” it the first time and says the A/C was as described. After multiple attempts explaining to Peter our expectations (based on the description) and what was actual fact of the house, it was apparent Peter and Crystal weren't going to resolve this matter.
We took images that clearly show the immense amount of filth as well as the complete disregard for paying guests and honoring the house as described in the listing.
Unfortunately we are not allowed to attach a photo link to this review.
The only positive note, the location and the beach was as described and would have been wonderful.
I take pride in providing a very special home for my guests as is reflected in every other review I have received since offering my home for rent. In this review you certainly did what you threatened to do if I did not pay the money you demanded. The fact is you did not stay in my home even for one night. You booked our home and the day you were to begin your stay you emailed me and made your complaints and left for another property you had also arranged to stay in. Despite my repeated efforts to address any concerns you had, you instructed me "not to bother" and expected me to pay you money. When I didn't pay you the money you demanded you threatened that you would write this bad review.
Given the reviews from guests who actually stayed in our home before and after you came and left on June 30th, your description of our home does not ring true. Your emails to me stated that you came to our home and left after meeting with our On-Island host Crystal on June 30th and yet you waited almost a month to write this review. One might wonder if you waited almost a month to see how much money I would pay to avoid having this review appear on my listing.
It is disappointing to encounter someone who clearly does not get the meaning of Aloha and the authentic Hawaiian get away our home offers.
Great house. Perfect setting.
A very comfortable house for a large group. We had six adults and two small children in our family get- together. The house is nicely decorated too.
The beach, steps from the house, is great. Calm in the morning so the children could play in it. Reefs for snorkeling. Sea turtles. I didn't miss a sunrise or sunset. All were gorgeous.
I have enough photos to paint pictures from to last me a whole year:)
Perfect Family Vacation
For my family who had never been to Hawaii, we had the perfect house for the perfect Hawaiian experience! The home is much larger than it appears on the outside and very nicely done and clean and modern. There was plenty of space for all 7 of us. As for the beach...The house is right on the beach! The back yard was large enough for the teenagers to play frisbee on but still the house was close enough to the beach to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The sand on the beach was soft and clean and was almost totally private. There were a few friendly passer byes that would walk by and a few people we'd see out in the water, but I was surprised how private it was. We did have several encounters with turtles that were swimming in the water with us and that would come up on the beach for some sun. There is a lot of corral in the water, but not for a little bit of distance. The sand in the water was nice and soft and the corral was fun to explore while snorkeling. Peter, the owner was quick to respond to requests for information and is very nice. And Crystal who is the manager of the property there on the island was also very friendly and more than willing to help with anything we needed. We didn't need anything once we were checked in, so she was really good about giving us our space. We really appreciated that. Great place to stay and we look forward to staying here again next time!
Mahalo for your review. It is great to hear that you experienced how special this spot is. I have worked to restore this original redwood home on this wonderful beach so that my guests can experience Hawaii the way it was before all the tourism. The privacy is extraordinary because this part of the North Shore is off the tourist route by a few miles on a stretch of the coast known as "The Country". for decades this has been the place for Hawaiians to have a beach house and still retains that quiet privacy. Across the street is Agricultural land so there will never be any development to impact this very special place.
Great location, relaxing, and had a wonderful time
The beach was great, kids could snorkel right out in front. You did not need the AC the temp was fine with breeze off ocean most of the time. It was safe to swim in front , protected from the waves
We rented bikes and used them quite a bit.
Town was great, nice places to eat, shop, etc...
Our trip to Hawaii was great
This pristine area of beautiful expansive beach front homes on one side and acres of agricultural land with tropical fruit farms, coffee plantations and equestrian ranches. Nearby Dillingham Airfield offers sky diving, glider tours and other adventures. The ocean is pristine with miles of crystal blue water and very few people as this area is off the tourist route and coveted by locals for the relaxed slow pace that makes for the most authentic Hawaiian experience the island has to offer. A bike path leads to Haleiwa where guests can find great dinning, shopping and all the North Shore water sports available at the Harbor.
