Built in 1959 And Only Updated, It Is The Small Quintessential Maine Cottage
About David Morse
We travel all over the world and have included special things in the house, sheets and comforters are top of the line, antiques and dishes are ours, and ones we love. David was a newspaper and television executive and now writes and Donna owned a Spa. This was bought for us, we discourage overnight guests, but find the house perfect to entertain and cook. Everything we created has been to bring in a gentle energy and quiet romantic atmosphere.
David Morse purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why David Morse chose Pemaquid Point
This is great for long walks, sitting by the sea and just enjoying nature. We do not encourage more than one couple for the full length of the stay , but an occasional overnight guest is fine. You can awake with tea or coffee and sit on the waterfront, walk to the lighthouse and cafe for breakfast, travel up the coasty to world class music and art, to say nothing of the best seafood in Maine! We always take the Hardy Boat out in the evening and often walk almost next door to the Bradley Inn to the Bradley Inn for dinner to drinks and music. There are plenty of Inns nearby, but this romantic getaway was bought last year just for us. We are now traveling to some unexpected places and will share our magic place with the right folks. The beds are a queen and full. Small bathroom but there is a tub and shower. We do not have laundry but can tell you where to drop off your clothes and pick them up a few hours later. Google Pemaquid Point and you will find history galore and a place you will not forget. THis is perfect for a couple just wanting privacy and quiet and time to be alone with nature. Like we said, an occasional visitor is OK too. but we discourage kids.
What makes this Cottage unique
nature nature nature. The bald eagles, the whales, seals and even the occasional tall ship will make this a magical place. YOu will see why we bought it and did not plan to rent. The roaring fire at night will be a delight after the sun sets over the ocean.

Startled little waves
In this modest, but comfortable cottage I met again the sea—“The grey sea and the long black land; /And the yellow half-moon large and low;/And the startled little waves that leap/In fiery ringlets from their sleep. . .” (Robert Browning). Breathtaking views, quiet sunsets, and restful slumber greet the visitor to this Maine house. We came as weary sojourners, my wife and I. We were content to rest in peaceful repose. But during our week at this Pemaquid sacristy we found our God, our souls. We rediscovered serendipitous freedom that we supposed only the seagulls knew. We found the fiery ringlets of a Maine seacoast morning. The golden moon graced our nights; the ebb tide braced our morning. When our time was over, we left with new unease with the mendacity of our normal world, and impatient to reclaim the extravagance of this cottage. Yes, it is clean. Yes, it is thoughtfully decorated. Yes, it is reasonably priced. This is not a sterile vacation home—it is adorned with human memories and pictures, and love. These memories—pictures, memorabilia, and, yes, most of all the sea, invited us into something eternal. We went there—you should too!
As a writer I am touched and humbled by your prose. It was a delight to have you and embrace God as I know Her to be
Thank you so much
Beautiful, quaint cottage
Quaint, cozy cottage on the water with beautiful sunset views. Just the right size for my husband and me. Loved the outdoor fire pit and the wood burning fireplace inside. Just wish the weather had been cooler. Great location to explore New Harbor, Damariscotta, Boothbay, Camden, and other Maine towns. Would certainly recommend!
The Pemaquid Pennisula is the home of the famous lighthouse and great excursions, dinner and boating. The loop road is a wonderful walk on the tip of Maine
