Walks and places to eat: Just a few minutes walk from the cottage is the South West Coast Path from which you can walk as far or as little as you want. In one direction is Trebarwith Strand. Over a mile of golden sand the beach is washed twice daily by the incoming tide. At low tide there are rock pools and rock formations. Look out for the beautiful pink rock pools lined with quartz and ideal for children to explore.

Trebarwith is a great surfing beach, there is a Surf School for absolute beginners or those wishing to improve their techniques. Situated on the cliffs overlooking the beach is the Port William pub and restaurant. A fantastic place to sit and watch the sun set over this lovely beach.

Going in the other direction you come to Bossiney Cove, again a tidal beach but very popular with visitors and locals alike. Further on you reach Boscastle with it's beautiful harbour, shops and valleys. Stop and have a drink at the Cobweb Inn, famous for it's local beer and food.

Local Places of Interest: The Old Post Office is situated in the centre of the village. It is one of the most famous buildings in Cornwall and is full of charm and interest. Built in the 14th century it was originally a Manor House and then in 1844 was converted into a letter receiving office for the district. It is now owned by the National Trust and is open to visitors.

Tintagel Castle, situated on the dramatic coastline, is an awe inspiring and romantic place of legends. Joined to the mainland by a narrow neck of land, Tintagel Island is the remains of the medieval castle associated with King Arthur. Newly built in 2019 a foot bridge connecting the island to the mainland was opened allowing easier access and offering amazing views along the coast. A magnificent feat of engineering.
The remains of the 13th century castle are breathtaking. Steep stone steps, rugged walls and windswept cliffs encircle was remains of the Great Hall. English Heritage now care for this wonderful monument.

Wonderful Relaxing Stay
Incredibly quaint home 2 blocks from downtown Tintagel and across the street from hiking paths. Pam is a great hostess!

Lovely cottage
Lovely cottage only a 5 minute walk to Tintagel town. Didn’t want for anything, slight damp smell in the ground floor bedroom but could be due to the age of the property. Would stay again if visiting this part of Cornwall.

Veronica Cottage, a good place to discover Cornwall
We had a wonderful 2 weeks stay in Veronica Cottage in Tintagel. This place full of history was a good starting point for many trips to interesting destinations all around here. We started with the nearer environment like the local castle and the post office, we visited Boscastle, Padstow, Bodmin, did some cycling there (camel trail!) and visited the spacious and still in very good condition being Lanhydrock. After that we also moved to locations in a bigger distance as Truro, Plymouth, Exeter, the Dartmoor and St. Michael’s Mount. Everywhere we liked to do geocaching, discovering places which we would not have seen without these hidden gems. The cottage itself, lovingly maintained by Pam, had all we needed for a stay here, we never missed something for our daily life. Pam is an extremely friendly but never obtrusive lady who helped us with all our questions and gave us a lot of useful tips what to do here (camel trail was a good idea by the way!). Thanks, Pam, we really enjoyed the stay here. Also all the best for Mr. Ginger who visited us from time to time and really enjoyed our caress.

Charming cottage
Our family of five spent a wonderful week in this cottage. It has so much character and has been beautifully updated. The owner, Pam, lives next door and was very friendly and helpful (but never intrusive). The location is ideal. The walk to the high street is less than 5 minutes and you can choose between pavements or a lovely footpath through the woods. There are many, many walks in the area either beginning at the cottage or after a short (10 minute) drive to Boscastle. We will definitely return to Tintagel!

Wonderful cottage, perfect location!
My husband and I along with another couple stayed at Veronica Cottage and loved it! It is charmingly furnished and very comfortable. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The owner, Pamela, went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Tintagel is famous for the castle ruins which we thoroughly enjoyed, but it's also a great location for day trips to places along the coast. We travelled to Clovelly, Port Isaac, St. Michael's Mount, Land's End, Boscastle, and several other interesting places. We loved this property!
