We really enjoyed this cabin. Very clean, roomy and a beautiful cabin with gorgeous views. Great location to everything in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.
When we pulled up the first thing we saw was plywood over part of the window. The inside was very dirty. We rolled the rugs up because they smelled and when we did that there was a powdery substance under the rug (most likely carpet powder to mask the smell), which we swept up and wiped down the floor in that area. The downstairs bathroom smelled like urine and the floors in the bathroom are old and dirty looking. There were cobwebs in the upstairs bath on the ceiling in the shower. We were eating dinner one night and noticed a long hair hanging on the chandelier and before we could get it, it fell onto the table to next to one of our plates. The beds, pillows, couch and chair are very worn and uncomfortable. Also if you have pets there isn't a grassy area right outside this cabin you have to walk them to other areas around other cabins. We did contact the owner via email and he responded saying that the lady he uses to clean is the best and that if the cabin was dirty she must not have been there. He told us we could call him to discuss further or he could send her out so that we could show her what all was dirty. We told him the next day that we had stuff planned to do with our kids and did not feel like we should have to stick around for someone to come do what should've been done before we arrived. Due to our experience we would not rent this cabin again.
Upon arriving at our cabin we noticed the window into downstairs bedroom was broken & seemed like it was just duct taped & cardboarded so was a little uneasy about that since it was 2 women staying there. Also there were ants in the kitchen & all over kitchen counters so we kept all food in fridge. The kitchen was not really fully equipped, luckily there were just 2 of us, not enuff dishes for more than 3 or 4. No wine glasses, just 1 champagne flute. The living room rug was dirty after rolling suitcase over it dust went everywhere. But what really bothered me was all the overhead lampshades, they were filthy. Would never turn on ceiling fans because that would add more dust flying. Also the hot tub was not that clean, water was not clear & way too much chlorine. Was hurting our eyes. However on a good note the decor is nice & towels & bedding & bath were clean.
While the view was beautiful and we enjoyed the relaxation away from it all some of the furniture was terrible. For example, the master bed creaked horribly and when I looked between the mattress and box spring there was a piece of plywood between them. I emailed the owner right after we got settled in about the issue and still 2 weeks later have heard nothing from him. We tried sleeping on it 2 nights but for two people with back issues it was miserable. We ended up on the upstairs twin bed which wasn't much more comfortable but at least it didn't have plywood in it. I am very disappointed the owner did not even acknowledge my email or complaint.
The couch in the den was not great either. If you sat in the middle cushion you sank down into a pit. The furniture on the 2 decks while rustic and I guess matched the theme were very uncomfortable, no cushions so it was hard to sit out on the decks and enjoy the beautiful view for any length of time.
I would not stay there again unless I knew the bed situation at the very least was resolved.
The cabin is pretty well kept. Kitchen could use a few more pans. King & queen beds were wonderful. Pull outs of course , slept like a pull out. Plenty of room for air mattress though. :) We enjoyed the pool table & hot tub. The bears in the neighbors trash can were the highlight of our stay. Lol. View is awesome!
The view from this cabin was wonderful, we loved how high up the mountain it was. We also liked the game room upstairs. The major downside to this property was the furniture, it was very uncomfortable and worn out. The king bed in the master was in the same condition, with large humps and valleys in the mattress.
The owners are very friendly and easy to deal with, even calling on the day of check in to make sure we had the right code to enter the property. Overall a nice stay!
