We had an amazing time staying at Nicci’s cottage. The cottage is so cozy and beautiful. It was extremely clean and well taken care of. Nicci has thought of every possible comfort for her guest. We really enjoyed the short walking distance to the beach and the town. We were able to walk everywhere even to the market. The cottage was sunny and quiet , the birds were singing in the morning and the garden was just beautiful. The cottage looks gorgeous on the pictures but it was even more beautiful in real life.
I could see myself spending a whole year in the cottage.
The town of Portrush is really great and very fun for both adults and children, and the neighboring town of PortStewart is also very beautiful. We were able to drive and see all the local attractions within 15 minutes from the cottage. We really enjoyed our holiday.
Nicci was very easy to reach and very quick to respond to any questions.
The kitchen was very well equipped and the pantry well stocked if you need to make a quick meal. and Nicci was so kind to leave bread and milk for our breakfast.
everything you need for family vacation
Crayfish cottage was the perfect repose for our family vacation. The cottage was immaculate, with plenty of space for 2 teenagers and 2 adults. It was on a nice street that was within walking distance of several restaurants and a grocery store, plus it had a washer and dryer which is always great to have on vacation. Nicci even provided milk and a yummy loaf of bread. The backyard garden was a nice little sanctuary for a picnic and there were many attractions in the local vicinity including Giant's Causeway, Dunluce castle, Bushmills distillery, etc. We all loved our time there.
Excellent Rental Property
We would be very happy to stay here again. Well located, spotless, well equipped, comfortable, and stylishly furnished. Very helpful owner. Stair is a little steep for very young children but a stair gate is available and not an issue for us.
Great owners and location
Wonderful owner. Great location
Need some directions in how to operate showers (unique to us)
Rooms were perfect and comfortable. Would stay again.
We're glad you enjoyed your stay and it's great to hear you'd like to come back and stay again.
Adorable and perfectly situated in Portrush
This delightful cottage was so very well appointed and was the trip favorite. I was so excited to stay here and Crayfish Cottage did not disappoint! From the decorations for the holidays, to the stash of movies and games, I only wish we could have stayed longer. So grateful Nicci for all of your thoughtfulness!!!
It was a pleasure having you stay! We are really glad you enjoyed the cottage and had such a memorable stay.
Fabulous place in a fabulous town
Loved this cosy little cottage. Was a great base to explore from as it’s perfectly situated and lovely to come home to. Very clean and well laid out with thoughtful extras from bread and milk to shower gel! Owner was great too and we’d love to go back again.

Giant's Causeway: Legend has it that the giant, Finn McCool, created this geological marvel. It is a World Heritage Site and now has an impressive visitors centre to match. Tip: car parking charges might take your breath away, so park across the road at the Heritage Railway (also worth a ride).
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge: Spanning a chasm eighty feet deep, it is an exhilarating experience peering down through the wooden slats into the clear waters below. The coastal path offers stunning views of Rathlin and the Scottish Isles, as well as a noisy seabird colony.
Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery: Join a tour of the distillery to observe the craft of traditional Irish whiskey making and sample the goods too.
Ballintoy Harbour: A picture-postcard pretty harbour with a pocket-sized tea room and magical views. Much-loved by walkers, this is the most celebrated part of the Causeway Coast.
Whitepark Bay Beach: The spectacular sandy beach forms a white arc between two headlands including the tiny salmon-fishing village of Portbraddan. The beach is backed by ancient dunes rich in bird and animal life. Enjoy lazy summer days, picnics, making sandcastles and long walks along this truly beautiful beach.
Portrush is well known for its three sandy beaches, the West Strand, East Strand and White Rocks (blue flag), under a mile from the cottage. They are popular with surfers and have several surf schools.
From personal experience, the bustling Ramore Wine Bar offers a broad, well-priced menu (children welcome) and The Harbour Bar and Bistro (along with its wonderful Gin Bar upstairs) is unmissable. 55 Degrees North is a well-priced option for afternoon tea with sea views (children welcome). Further afield, Tartine in Bushmills offers delicious food and an interesting wine list. Harry's Shack on the beach at Portstewart Strand is a laid back local eatery.
We’re roughly an hour's drive from Belfast and 3 hours from Dublin.
To make the most of the spectacular sights and attractions, we’d recommend a car. Car hire available from airports and nearby Coleraine.
Portrush town centre is about half a mile up the road. There is a Lidl supermarket a 5 minute walk from the cottage. A Maxol garage/Eurospar is also a short walk from Crayfish Cottage selling milk, bread and other provisions plus logs and fuel. It is open 7 days a week from 7am until midnight. There is also an Ulster Bank ATM. All the big supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda) are in Coleraine which is a 10 minute drive.
