Seabreeze Villa with a sugar sand beach - 4 bedrooms and 2 baths.
About Christian Krull
Seabreeze is part of Glen Craft Villas, which has been family owned and operated since 1947. It is meticulously designed and maintained for guests. While my grandpa Krull purchased this property from the sawmill almost 100 years ago, the other grandpa Field was a legendary architect in the area and designed some cottages after Frank Lloyd Wright. We are the 3rd generation hosting visitors here. We have enjoyed watching families grow up summer after summer here at our villas on Big Glen Lake.
Christian Krull purchased this Villa in 1985

Great spot between the lakes!
This is the second time we've stayed at this property and will keep coming back. The location cannot be beat...we loved playing tennis (on the property and the beautiful brand new courts in town), riding our bikes to town (and beyond on the Heritage Trail), tons of great spots to eat and shop in town...little Glen Lake is gorgeous. Property is rustic, and super charming.
Had all the amenities you would need
Great family friendly location
Our family of 5 (7, 5, 3 year old kids) stayed at Sea Breeze for a week. We had a great time. The location is great for everything this part of the state offers, including hanging out on beautiful Glen Lake or exploring Sleeping Bear dunes. The owner Chris was friendly and a great guy. We can't wait to come back again next year.
So amazing! Can't wait to return!
This was just the most perfect vacation spot for my family. The water is crystal clear and shallow, perfect to play in, float on, or fish. The house was cute and clean, nice rooms, well stocked kitchen. The location is amazing! Very sweet landscaping all around, great seating for guests, you can choose a tucked away hammock or chair on the little beach. The owner/ manager Chris was so nice, so so nice. He answered all our questions, came by a few times to help us with something or just say hi and check on us. We ran into him and his lovely wife in town and my 11 year old started talking about fishing, this wonderful man took time to discuss fishing techniques with him then offered to take him fishing on his boat the next day! My son was ecstatic, got up at 430 am! Went with my boyfriend and Chris and had such an awesome time! He was so sad to leave. Not enough good things to say about this place! Almost forgot...all the fun water toys available for guests at no charge! Paddle boarding, row boat, peddle boat....
Great Up North Spot
Our family (kids: daughter, 9; son, 7) stayed for a week in the Sea Breeze cottage at GlenCraft Villas. First off, what a perfect location. Right on gorgeous Glen Lake, shallow, warm, sandy, quiet (at least when we were there), but a 2 minute drive (10-15 minute walk) to Lake Michigan and the charming town of Glen Arbor. Brad and Tammy were fantastic hosts and their little dog Snickers could not have been more adorable. Plenty of outdoor activities at the Villas, the kids LOVED the paddleboat and wading/swimming out to the swim platform. My husband and I liked the tennis!
Kitchen is well stocked, cabin was the right size for our family and could have accommodated maybe 2-3 more people comfortably. Clean, cozy, quiet. and close to all the action at Sleeping Bear Dunes, a paddle down the Platte River, horseback riding, Traverse City and Fish Town all within a 20-30 minute drive.
We will be back and highly recommend this gem!
Our family vacation spot year after year!
We have been coming to GlenCraft Villas cottages for over 10 years now. My children have such fond memories of Glen Arbor, of the cottages, of Big Glen Lake, the peaceful mornings and walks to town to play in the park, shop or have ice cream. Big Glen Lake is pure magic -- the most beautiful we've ever encountered. The water is crystal clear to the sandy bottom, and it is the perfect depth for swimming along shore without worrying about little ones. The cottage rental comes with a paddleboat and life jackets (shared by other guests) free to use, and my older kids love touring out to deeper waters. I love that they are still in plain view. And we have had many a campfire around the firepit!
SeaBreeze cottage is wonderful! Four separate bedrooms mean everyone has their own space, and two full baths are very nice to have. The cottage living areas look out onto the beach and lake, and its a beautiful view. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, but the charming town has quite a few establishments to eat out if you wish. The beds are comfortable as well. There's nothing like waking up to the sound of the water on the shore...one of my kids favorite parts of our vacations. And we love having a fireplace inside! There's always plenty of wood cut and ready for use in the pile outside.
Our trips wouldn't be complete without a visit to Sleeping Bear Dunes, which is little more then 5 minutes away. It's a fantastic hike, and the views of the lakes are worth the effort. On our way home, we always stop off at the blacksmith shop and general store in Glen Haven (less than 5 minutes away) on our way home, and then walk down to Lake Michigan and troll the beach for shells and stones. There's a lot of history here, as well as natural beauty. We have also taken the Empire Trail hike, and I definitely recommend it. It's not too difficult, and the views of lake Michigan are spectacular.
As our kids grew (the older ones are young adults now) we girls would sometimes take a day and go shopping in the nearby town of Suttons Bay. We love the shops and treats, it's really a fun day out. And if you want to get out to a movie or just see a bit more "civilization" then Traverse City isn't too far for a jaunt, and they have everything. Our family enjoyed the small town experience, the beauty of the lake and family time in at "home" in the cottage. It's what our memories are made of. I can't recommend GlenCraft highly enough -- you won't be disappointed!
