This typical house built in 1914 is located in the picturesque area of Albaicín and it has been totally refurbished retaining its original elements and seamlessly integrating in the heritage of the surroundings. Tradition and authenticity contrast with the bold and modern design of the interiors.
Discover Granada from this genuine house boasting the maximum comfort and ideally located in the heart of the Albaicín, the former Moorish district in the foothills of the Alhambra and formed by narrow and winding streets, cobblestoned slopes and secluded squares full of contrasts and magic in every corner.
Divided into three floors, the visitor will discover a special charm in each corner of this house, gently leading you upwards to a cloistral and sunny terrace with panoramic views of the Alhambra and the typical houses and orchards scattered right in front of you all around the neighborhood.
Clay and hardwood floors with underfloor heating, a precious and antique glazed earthenware jar buried in the ground floor that sets us back to a remote time, wooden ceilings and window closures that invite us to lean out and breathe the spirit of this neighborhood... these are only a few of the details that make this place so special.
On the upper floor we find the living room with wooden roof with sloping ceilings and a comfortable area for a total of four guests. This warm and open space area is located beside a contemporary kitchen, fully equipped with modern appliances and a dining area.
At this point, some architectural features stand out: the modern metal and wood staircase that runs throughout the whole of the house and the beautiful roof window located on the top floor that provides abundant natural light to the living area and the kitchen and from which you can see the ever-changing skies of Granada.
Our house has two bedrooms, the master bedroom on the first floor with a double bed and a functional closet and, on the same floor, a spacious full bathroom tiled with the original "Fajalauza" ceramics. A second bedroom located on the ground floor boasts two single beds and two traditional windows facing to the quiet main street. This floor has a toilet.
The whole house is for private use of the guests.
The house is located in the Albaicin, the ancient district of Moorish Granada integrated in the historical area of the city. This picturesque hill, at the opposite foothills of the Alhambra, is formed by narrow and winding streets, cobblestoned slopes and secluded squares full of contrasts where the Andalusian white covers every wall. The local main street, Gran Via, as well as the most important shopping streets, is located in a mere 350 meters and Plaza Nueva, the oldest square in Granada, lays only 250 meters from our house. You should only take into account that the Albaicin is mainly a pedestrian area and access to vehicles is heavily restricted.
From our house you can enjoy a delicious walk through beautiful cobbled streets full of life and festive atmosphere, passing through the ancient Arab citadel with several exotic tea shops, restaurants and Moorish shops.
The Albaicín is a place to get lost and pay attention to the silence, the sound of the guitars and the murmuring in the distance. Here, you will be delighted by beautiful corners, walls with colorful bougainvillea and miraculous cisterns in which the much appreciated water, with a capital role in the culture and history of the city, quietly remains fresh.
Among the must-see attractions in the area we can include the sunset from the magical viewpoint of San Nicolás, where the magnificent views of the Alhambra merge with the Sierra Nevada mountains as a backdrop. In this unique area you can find beauty in almost every corner and square and an extraordinary monumental heritage at every step: ancient walls, palaces and churches. Besides, the rich mix of cultures shelters cloistered nuns with sale of traditional pastries through a lazy Susan, Muslim prayers and Arab baths.
