Cedar Keys - Nature's Coast.
The fishing and bird watching is great in Cedar Key. Our home has an unsurpassed wilderness view with absolute breathtaking sunsets of the Gulf of Mexico from every room in the house including our large screened-in porch and our outside deck area. The Rye Key gated-community is only two miles from downtown Cedar Key, giving the privacy and easy access only Rye Key can provide. Bald eagles, ospreys, pelicans, hawks and wading birds are just a sample of the bird life seen on any given day from the deck. We have seen over 15 different species of birds while enjoying our morning coffee.
Our two-bedroom, two-bath home includes a king-sized bed in one room and two single beds in the other bedroom. The bedrooms are separated by the great room consisting of the dining, living and kitchen area. The home is furnished in an ocean/tropical theme with a wood burning fireplace and an outdoor gas grill.
The fully electric kitchen includes stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cookware and plenty of utensils. The house has central heat and air, cable, DVD player, VCR, stereo receiver, and telescope. Our side-by-side washer & dryer are located in a separate area from the main room and we have ample covered parking. Downstairs storage area.
Cedar Key has excellent flats fishing for spotted sea trout, redfish, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, and blue fish. How do you catch fish in Cedar Key? Ask us, we have over 30 years of fishing experience in the Cedar Key areas. Other activities in town include: day shopping, excellent restaurants and nature trails. And the local seafood is fantastic.
We are pet friendly.

A great retreat
My husband and I were fortunate to stay at Eagle View for two weeks in January. This cozy cottage offers gorgeous views of the flats leading out to the Gulf. It’s also a bird watchers paradise! In our first 24 hours we observed numerous species, including osprey, white ibis, great blue herons, snowy egrets, an eagle and roseate spoonbills. We loved watching the ebb and flow of the tides. And the stars at night were brilliant! It makes a difference when you’re away from the lights of a big city!
Cedar Key is a charming little town with friendly locals and several good eateries. We especially enjoyed the clam chowder at Tony’s and the huevos rancheros at Holey Moley. We took many walks through the neighborhood and were always greeted with a wave and a smile. Be sure to check out the Cedar Key Museum State Park. It’s nicely done and just a short walk from Eagle View.
As another reviewer pointed out, this home isn’t fancy but it is sun filled and extremely comfortable. We truly had everything we needed for our get-away. We hope to return next year!
Thank you. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you come back soon.
Paula is maintaining a lovely home; it was way beyond our expectations. The house was cozy but spacious. Parking was easy and convenient since it was right outside the front door. Jack, my friend, and I stayed at the house for five nights. The best part of the house is the spectacular views of marshes which allowed us to do birding by just looking outside the numerous large windows. The first two days we had beautiful weather, and we were able to enjoy the deck and the screened in porch. Plus, we used the gas grill to make our dinner a couple of nights. The set up of the house was perfect for us since the bedrooms were on opposite sides of the house, so I did not disturb my friend since I wake up ridiculously early.
Cedar Key is a perfect place if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. The best part of the trip was a great-horned owl sighting that I had in the area. The house is also close enough to different springs in the area, so it is a perfect destination for seeing manatees!
Paula was a fantastic hostess. She was easy to communicate with and made our stay a simple process. Plus, she returned my deposit as soon as we departed.
I would love to stay at the house again!
Great home and area. Total relaxation!
The location of this home is perfect. An out of the way location within a short drive to the Cedar Key hot spots. Comfy and inviting, this home was perfect for us. Would gladly stay there again.
Thank you for the great review. So glad you enjoyed your stay!
Incredible sunset views
Cozy, comfortable and well appointed, Eagle View is a home to be enjoyed. We spent every morning and evening on the screened porch. Sunsets and watching the bird activity made for great dinner entertainment. And the stars!
Cedar Key is one of our favorite places to vacation. Plenty of hiking trails in the area and biking. A short trip (35 miles) to Manatee Springs is a must. Simple fun and no McDonalds...great local food (Steamers, Island Hotel Restaurant, Holy Moly for breakfast) and the local are so nice. Take time to get to know them.
It felt like home. Slept late and enjoyed every moment. Nothing fancy but oh, so cute and comfortable. Paula certainly put special touches into this treasure. Will definitely plan on another visit to Eagles View.
Thanks for the kind words. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you can come back one day. Cedar Key is a special place.
Heaven on Earth
My husband and I stayed at Eagle View for a getaway over a long weekend. The house is located in a small, secluded gated neighborhood. The house is immaculate, and the area is so quiet and peaceful. We brought our kayaks and left them downstairs under the house for the weekend with no concerns about security. We walked our dogs around the neighborhood but hardly saw anyone else around. We loved having our coffee and breakfast on the screened-in porch in the mornings and grilling out on the deck for dinner. I could sit out there all day and watch the tide roll in and out. Communication with Paula went smoothly, and she was very responsive to our questions. We will definitely stay here again the next time we need to get away from city life. Thank you for the perfect weekend.
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. I agree about watching the tide toll in and out. I could watch it for days. Hope you can come visit again one day. Paula
My wife and I recently stayed for 5 days at this property on Cedar Key, Florida. Everything about the property was top notch - quiet, beautiful views, comfortable, and very relaxing. Potential visitors will enjoy their stay. We highly recommend.
Thank you. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Eagle View and hope you return. Paula
