About Pat O'Brien, Ph.D.
I'm Dr. Pat O'Brien. (Ph.D). I purchased my house behind this property in 1969, at which time I was Asst. Professor of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of New Orleans. Starting in 1982 I purchased and renovated 20 houses in my immediate neighborhood (from Kerlerec St. to Columbus St., between N. Derbigny St. and N. Roman St.) The last three houses that I renovated won honors for outstanding renovation, and my work has earned me an award from the Louisiana Landmarks Society. I am truly proud of my neighborhood and hope that you will visit and see a different aspect of the city - a thriving neighborhood in the heart of Esplanade Ridge/Treme.

What makes this House unique
You will be residing in a truly residential neighborhood - across the street is an Orchard that I own that was planted and fenced by Tulane University City Center. Just waiting for fruit to bear and for the whole neighborhood to enjoy. At present there is a renovation of an old church going on across the street. On the corner I own a lot that I allow neighbors to use - and older men who have lived or still do live in the neighborhood play horseshoes and barbecue every Tuesday. You can't get more "N"Awlins" than this! (That area was featured in an article published by Tulane University).

Spring Weekend 2018
My husband and I found Cozy Cottage much larger than expected. Lots of room to spread out and read, login to the Wi-Fi, or plan the next dining experience or excursion.
Convenient location no matter which direction you're headed. Easy drive to airport. Great location between French Quarter and Jazz Fest (at New Orleans Fairgrounds).
Thank you for your review of the Cozy Cottage in New Orleans.
I do hope you and your husband will return again - very soon.
It was wonderful having you as guests.
Great Location For Mardi Gras
5 friends and I stayed for 4 days. It was a very nice house and in an awesome location for Mardi Gras. The walk to Bourbon was 15 minutes and very easy. Very close to parade routes as well. Pat was a very nice host and informational. She gave us lots of great tips and recommendations. Thanks Pat.
Thank you for the review. I notice that you gave the property 4 stars. Is there something that you felt was lacking or needed to be improved. I would certainly like to achieve a "5" star rating.
Perfect New Orleans getaway
Rise - thank you so very much for the review!
Charmed by the Cozy Cottage
Pat made the trip so wonderful despite the cold weather. We enjoyed the tea and coffee in the house and were charmed by her interior design. I highly recommend staying here. The location was perfect because we got to see a real neighborhood in Nola and we rented bikes to get around so nothing was too far away.
Thank you for your very kind response. I am delighted that you all enjoyed your stay there - and hope to see you back again!
Again I am so sorry you encountered such cold weather - you wee great troopers!
Very best to all,
Tucked away nicely
Pat always quickly responded and made sure we had all we needed! House was clean, beds comfortable! Overall great place, close to eveything

Very best regards,
So comfortable, convenient, perfect for family trip
Dr. O'Brien was so thoughtful, the house/cottage was perfect for the 6 of us (adults). Walking distance to French Quarter daily, short Uber ride to City Park and everywhere else we wanted to go.
Thank you for the very kind review.
I hope to see you all back again!
