Interaction with Guests

I (Jeff) live 8 minutes away and am available 24/7. I've lived in Abiquiu for 12 ½ years and am familiar with everything to see and do here. I'm also available to come over anytime you need anything or suggestions on things to do in the area. I can show you all the hiking trails from the home and also be your hiking guide too! Please also check out my Casita de Chuparosa here in Abiquiu. My web page has tours, area and hiking information. Please bring gate codes with you and my cell and land line phone numbers with you during your outings, in case you get lost or if you have car trouble.

I prefer to communicate via text during your stay. It's a quick and easy way for me to address your questions and requests. E-mail works good too. Cell service at my main house is sketchy and texts and e-mails go through to me faster.

Big wide open spaces. Very private. Lots of acreage between homes. Only 2 homes on road. There is a sacred adobe chapel down the private road (Pictured) Walking distance to beautiful rock formations, the best hiking trails all around, Hike up to Sierra Negra Mountain from home, Caves, ruins, artifacts, all around home. 1,000's of open acres around home, Awesome rock outcroppings all around, Hikers haven!

This is such a beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautiful and like new. It is full of interesting books and art. The views are amazing. We three single women were accommodated comfortably. The location was central for all that we did (we were on a personalized Georgia O'Keeffe tour). Jeff was very helpful and we felt we were well looked after. His recommendations for where to eat were right on target. We had a wonderful mini-vacation. I highly recommend this casita.

A Little Bit of Heaven...

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 lovely summer days in this wonderful new casita! The owner has spent many hours making this a place of relaxation lacking nothing. I cannot think of one thing that was missing or needs to be changed. Everything was 5 stars, including the owners attitude! We will definitely return & recommend this casita wholeheartedly! Carolyn

Where do you live?

With a beautiful view of Pedernal, a magnificent place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Casita De Azulejo is a wonderful place to spend a few relaxing days. The casita itself is exquisite with wonderful touches - up to date appliances, beautiful polished concrete floors, walk in shower, very comfortable beds, etc. There are also little touches of the Southwest in its interior design which delight the senses - authentic throw rugs, vigas and so on. The back patio is an ideal place to drink a glass of wine as you watch the sunset over Pedernal, the mountain about which Georgia O'Keefe said that if she painted it often enough she hoped God would give it to her!

Owner's Response: Doug and Dad Murray were delightful guests, so complimentary and considerate. Doug was a great communicator, left the Casita in immaculate condition (with a generous tip for my housekeeper) I'm so glad they enjoyed their stay, they are welcome back anytime. I sure hope they return again.

Perfect place for a perfect weekend

  • 5 of 5

Private, quiet, peaceful, isolated ... with beautiful views, both inside and out. Pedernal is always in sight to anchor the day outside. The original artwork inside is extraordinarily well done. Everything you could want is provided and easily within reach. Casita De Azulejo is a gem, a rare find. Highly, highly recommended.

Beautiful home with spectacular views

  • 5 of 5

If you like to rent houses because you like to cook your own meals, this kitchen is supplied with everything from fantastic knives to a Ninja blender. The cabinet of art supplies was fascinating to a non-artist and broke a life long fear of artistic expression by drawing the view from the patio. I loved the NM weaved rugs on the floor and the book collection of NM artists, adventures and architecture. Abiquiu is what I call my happy place as I've been camping and renting homes there at least annually for several years and Casita De Azulejo, as well as Casita Chuparosa, owned by the same hosts, are my favorite places to stay. The suggestions for things to do provided by the host is exhaustive if you feel the need for an outing. The host is respectul of your privacy but attentive to anything you'd need.

Casita Azulejo is very tastefully appointed, Jeff the owner excels in his customer service, and quite honestly our whole experience here far exceeded expectations.

The casita is located in a beautiful setting with amazing views from every window. The kiva was great and firewood was provided- really, the casita has everything you might need!!

Jeff the owner is attentive and very helpful. Anytime I had a question - I would send him a text and he got back to me right away. He is very knowledgeable about the area.

i am so glad we stayed here and I will most definitely be back!! Thanks again Jeff!!
