This unique family home is located within walking distance to Galgorm Resort and Spa along an Irish country laneway. The twelve year old property was designed and built by the owners and offers not only character and comfort but every modern convenience expected by today's traveller. You may pick up on some French accents such as the old terracotta tiled flooring, shipped specially from Marseille, this is kept at ambient temperature by underfloor heating.
Upon arrival you are welcomed into the property via a bright hallway with high wooden ceiling through into designated living, dining and kitchen areas. The lounge area is a mix of old and new, many pieces collected from our travels over the years, with the centre focus being a large stone fireplace incorporating a wood burner. There is dining for eight at the old French chestnut table or if you prefer you can eat informally at the large kitchen island. The iconic Aga provides a convenient means for cooking at any time of the day. Weather permitting you can venture outside and fire up the gas BBQ and enjoy some alfresco dining at the patio table and chairs. If you fancy a change of scenery, or if it's a little cooler, you can choose to sit in the sunroom where there wonderful views over the Irish countryside. In the distance, twice hourly, you can watch the train pass by on it's way to either Belfast or Derry/Londonderry. Cullybackey is the closest station, a short five minute drive away.
As with other areas of the house, the downstairs bedroom is spacious with a super king sized bed. It has an ensuite wet room and is, therefore, perfect for someone with slight mobility problems. The other two bedrooms are upstairs accessed via the turret leading out of the living area. In one bedroom there are twin beds that can be made into a super king sized bed and the other a king sized bed. There is a walk-in wardroom for clothes storage.
The bathroom, also located upstairs, has twin wash-hand basins and a bath that incorporates a shower attachment. There is a separate laundry room with Belfast sink, washing machine and tumble drier. This room also has a shower.
Specially selected bedlinen will ensure a cosy, comfortable and good night's sleep in all bedrooms.
Spend your wedding weekend preparing for the big day in a spacious, unique country setting. Services, such as florists, hairdressers, beauty therapists are on the doorstep for the bridal party. Also suitable for guests such as, couples and families who wish a convenient location from which to base themselves and travel to the popular wedding venues, The Ivory Pavilion, Galgorm Castle and Galgorm Resort and Spa.
Overall a most comfortable and inviting family home, rarely have we had a visitor who doesn't complement us on the interior and architectural design both internally and externally. I have no hesitation recommending this accommodation as your base for exploring the beauty of Northern Ireland and beyond.
