A charming former miller’s cottage just a stone’s throw from the beach and picture perfect harbor, in the iconic fishing village of Mousehole. This three bedroom character property features its own private sunny garden and is well positioned to experience the evocative atmosphere and history of this village loved by painters, photographers and visitors alike.
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle in a quiet street just off the harbour, Kent House is an ideal retreat for families and couples in any season. The delightful, secluded south facing walled garden is a lovely spot for sunny brunches or an evening drink, with the covered loggia offering plenty of space for alfresco dining.
The cottage retains many original features, including beamed ceilings and ancient wood panelled walls painted in soft hues, creating a timeless backdrop for the traditional furnishings. Both the sitting and dining rooms offer an open fireplace and wood-burning stove respectively, and are cosy and welcoming. A well equipped galley kitchen with a glazed door to the garden adjoins the dining room. Upstairs you will find two charming double bedrooms and one single bedroom along with the bathroom. The cottage’s lovely garden is a rarity indeed in the heart of the village and offers a spot for peaceful relaxation, along with the games annexe with cloakroom just off the loggia and an outside shower to rinse off sandy toes after a trip to the nearby beach.
Kent House is well positioned to experience a true taste of Cornish life in this quintessential fishing village. Potter down to the harbour to see the colourful boats chugging in and out with their daily catch or chill out on the soft sand of the town beach. There are shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs within a few moments walk of the cottage – don’t miss our favourites: The Old Coastguard or 2 Fore Street for fabulous local produce and seafood. For those who fancy venturing a little further, the far west of Cornwall has so much to offer, the iconic landmarks, St Michaels Mount and the renowned open-air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno are both only a short drive away as are coastal hotspots Penzance, St Ives and Sennen. Please note this property normally books for 7 or 14 nights stay with a Saturday changeover but please enquire for shortbreak availability. 1 well behaved dog welcome at £ 25 per week!
