La Grange is a delightfully converted barn with high ceilings, oak beams and exposed stone - the perfect place for enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the Normandy way of life.
The building is approximately 250 yrs old and has been fully and sympathetically renovated retaining lots of its old world charm.
The property is located in a beautiful setting with a large garden set to lawn next to the river. The house is in a quiet location within a small hamlet five minutes drive from the town of St Sever with its numerous shops, bars and restaurants.
The renovation has been done to a high standard and consists of a cosy but spacious lounge, fully equipped kitchen and utility/laundry room adjoining. There is also a ground floor cloakroom. The first floor is dominated by a spectacular galleried bedroom complete with 4 poster bed. There is a main bathroom and two further bedrooms. The third bedroom (25m2) includes a modern luxurious en-suite complete with separate shower and bath. It has been our second home for 27 years.
The property has a good wi-fi service.
Nearby is the pretty market town of Villedieu-les-Poeles with its historic copper foundry and quaint buildings. Slightly further afield is the larger market town of Vire.
The Lac de La Dathee, with its 18 hole golf course, fishing, windsurfing and sailing school is just a 15 minute drive from the property. Normandy has a total of 310 miles of cycling paths and many more walking trails, a delight for keen hikers.
Within easy reach you'll find the D Day landing beaches and the historical towns of Carentan, Coutances and Bayeux.
