Sleeps 6 - Sea Views - Dogs Welcome - Open Fire
We had a great time staying in the house for a week. Toasty. Bigger than expected, kitchen is great, kids loved playing in all the rooms. The views and sunsets from the living room on a clear day are spectacular. Ardnamurchan is totally amazing and chilled out. Swordle bay is nice, walks from Fascadale and Ockle. Puffin cafe is great.
Ceol na mara
Beautiful location, comfortable accommodation and plenty to do in the surrounding area. Both kids, aged 6+2 loved it and didn't want to leave. Would happily return
Good all round holliday accomodation, great for dogs and their owners
Perhaps a little isolated for a stay at this time of year, especially with the weather, but bungalow was nice and warm, there is a good chance i may come again next year.
Amazing location, dreadful access road will scrape your car, charity shop decor and quality. Avoid.
Amazing location with stunning views over to islands either from balcony or huge double glazed windows in lounge. Very pleasant and helpful help from Maureen the caretaker. However, the access track to the house is in very poor condition, extremely steep and rutted causing the underside of our estate car to be scraped despite manoeuvring at crawling speed in first gear up it. When I reported my concerns to the Steading Holidays office in Kilchoan the guy there gave me a couldn’t care less attitude, had I not wanted to spoil my family’s holiday I would have taken further at the time. If you encountered such in any other service industry would have you contacting the customer services department. A number of properties share this road but as a commercial operation Steading Holidays need to bang heads together and make sure it is in a fit state of repair, they are service providers running a business here.
This same attitude applies to the interior of the house too with cheap, charity shop quality interiors, bedding that is totally out of keeping with the standards we would expect having paid a large amount of money to stay here. The only pleasant touch was the beautiful posy of sweet peas welcoming us which Maureen had picked from her own garden.
So despite loving the location there is no way our family would return here or rent from Steadings Holidays again.
We are sorry to hear that you had an unsatisfactory holiday at Ceol Na Mara. With regards to the road we are aware of this issue and this is why we highlight this both on our website and also on the additional information sent out when the balance has been paid. 'Please Note: Ceol na Mara is at the end of a shared rough track, the first steep part of the track needs to be driven slowly, with care (first gear) and is not suitable for cars with a low chassis. On arrival with a heavy laden car, some passengers could walk, to lighten the load.' We at Steading Holidays are not able to make any changes to the road. This is a decision that needs to be made by the owner, along with the other properties that share this access. We are sorry to hear that when you called into the office, John (my husband) was not helpful, he is always being praised with regards to his helpfulness. Unfortunately he has not been too well recently and can only apologise for him having an 'off' day. The owners have received your feedback regarding the interior and are going to be renewing the linen. They, themselves come up to the property and every year put a lot of work into keeping the house well maintained and safe for rental.
Beautiful location with comfort in a relaxed environment
Wind kept the midges away but also lost us the lights for a morning however we enjoyed a wonderful four days on the peninsular. Great to catch up with all the wonderful inhabitants both wild and those community members who consider themselves domestic..ated. Never a disappointment Thank you
Fantastic location with views in all directions and lovely sunsets seen from the decking which was a great place to sit.
