The town of Agios Konstantinos is located in one of the most central parts of Greece. Just 1,5 hour away from Athens, 3,5 hours from Thessaloniki and half an hour from the capital of the Prefecture of Fthiotida, Lamia. It is built on the site of the ancient settlement of Opoundi Lokron, Dafnountas. It is less than 10 minutes from the famous Loutroupolis of Kamena Vourla, where one can enjoy the thermal baths of the area and visit the built in the 11th - 12th c. Monastery of the Metamorphosis of the Savior. It is also about a quarter from Molos, known for its agricultural products and especially its pistachio, but also for hosting one of the most important medieval castles in the area of Mendenitsa.
Nearby is also the monument of Thermopylae with the imposing statue of Leonidas to dominate and to remind the unparalleled courage of Greek history and resistance over the centuries.
Agios Konstantinos combines mountain and sea. It is built at the foot of Mount Knimis where you can try hiking, climbing or mountain biking, admire the waterfalls of the area or visit some of the beautiful beaches offered for swimming, sailing and other water sports. The most known beached of the area are:
Kalamos, Asponeri, Blue Bay (with camping and a legendary Disco of 80's and 90's), Sykies, Plaz, Livadaki and Loggos.
At the entrance of the village there is the magnificent church of Agios Konstantinos and Agia Eleni next to the old baptistery, with Byzantine mosaics. Don’t forget to take a tour at the ruins of ancient Dafnounda, in the Isiomites area. Reference points are also the church of Agios Nikolaos next to the ancient plane trees and the open-air theater, on the way to Agnanti, as well as the monuments of the dead during the Second World War, reminding the history of the place.
Lovers of wildlife will also admire the wetland in the Vromolimni area.
Agios Konstantinos is the perfect base for excursions to Sporades islands or Lichadonisia.
