About the property

This 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath Hawaiian getaway condo at Kulalani at the Mauna Lani Resort is only 23 miles from the Kona International Airport. It is the ideal place for a quiet retreat, or a family adventure/vacation. Hawaii has been a place of restoration and family bonding for us over the years and I know that the gentle atmosphere of the Big Island will bring a sense of beauty and peace to your life as well.

This new, designer furnished condo features a private Hawaiian-themed master bedroom upstairs with a beautiful king-sized, Tommy Bahama-style bed and furnishings, Tommy Bahama bedding, 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, T.V., large private bathroom with a spacious tiled shower, separate jacuzzi tub, double sinks and private toilet. The spacious lanai off the master bedroom is a private, quiet outdoor seating area. The attached study includes a love seat sleeper.

The peaceful, ocean-themed guest room (also upstairs) includes a carved wood, hawaiian-made queen bed, dressers and nightstands and a large T.V. The guest room includes its own ensuite as well. For extra guests, a comfortable pull out sofabed is situated in the livingroom. Sleeps six.

The kitchen is thoughtfully designed and is equipt with all of the conveniences to prepare fresh meals for two and yet has enough room to accommodate larger family meals as well. The table expands to seat 6-8 comfortably. Bar stools line the kitchen counter to accommodate more.

The main-floor lanai is surrounded by newly planted gardens, and looks out onto a small strip of natural Hawaiian volcanic rock, flora and fauna, and the golf course. The lanai includes a built-in outdoor BBQ and sink, love seat with side tables and ottoman and comfortable outdoor dinner seating for 6 as well.

There is a main floor washroom and laundry.

Beach towels, insulated costco bag, insulated cooler for beach days, and ironing board are stored in the laundry for guests.

Four back-pack style beach chairs with attached small lunch coolers and storage compartments, 1 beach umbrella, 2 boogie boards, a small scooter, beach toys, balls, frisbee, pool noodles and diving rings are stored in the garage and are for the free use of our guests. Various board games and card games are stored in the kitchen cupboards and touring/history books are on the coffee tables so you can plan each days' adventure.

The resort community of Kulalani is a golfers paradise. It offers the perfect place of rest after a beautiful day on the greens. Enjoy golf on the championship Francis H. Ii Brown North and South courses. In fact, the entire Kohala coast is crowned repeatedly with incredibly stunning and challenging courses within only a few miles of the resort.

Only a short drive away are some of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii including Beach 69, Hapuna Beach, and the Mauna Kea Beach. Explore and find so many other more private, white sand, black sand, and even green sand beaches, mountainous hikes, bike trails, and tropical, wind-sweeping views over the ocean and inlets. Pololu national park is a favourite of ours. On your drive, you may find farmers' produce trucks set up along the road selling sweet, small apple bananas, mangos, coconuts, pineapples, papayas and many of the other incredible Hawaiian-grown produce. You may come across fields of bamboo, Macadamia nut orchards, coffee farms and pineapple plantations. Make sure to stop by and sample the wide array of deep, rich and comforting Kona coffees available to take home to remind you of your travels. Wild goats, turkeys and donkeys dot the volcanic landscape and are something to keep a look out for. In many of the local beaches, the protected and majectic Honu (turtles) are famous and regular visitors. Make sure to keep your snorkle gear with you on beach days to catch a glimpse of these and the thousands of other tropical ocean creatures that teem the Hawaiian waters around the big island.

Minutes down the road, is the Shops at Mauna Lani where you can find supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art and free weekly entertainment in the form of traditional Hawaiian music and dancing in the evenings.

Kulalani is tucked away in a private, lushly landscaped and secluded, gated community yet it is an easy walk or short drive to all of the resort amenities. Relax at the huge outdoor pool and hot tub or enjoy the separate, quiet adult lap pool and hot tubs that flank the new fitness facilities that are exclusively for Kulalani and Kamilo guests. Enjoy the warm, gentle Hawaiian breezes and tropical sounds that abound in the pristine, landscaped pool park located in the center of the neighborhood. Each amenity is only a minute or two from your front door. There are public washrooms and a large barbeque area with comfortable seating in the pool and park area. The pool area is surrounded by lush gardens and shaded seating areas as well as plenty of seating where you can drink in the incredible Hawaiian sunshine.

In addition to the complex amenities, guests of Kulalani will also have access to the Mauna Lani Fitness and Sports Club and the Mauna Lani Owners Beach, which features white sand, beach loungers, a restaurant and washrooms.

Book with us today for you perfect adventure and getaway to remember.

Why Curt and Jessica Jespersen chose Kulalani

We chose Kulalani for the beautifully peaceful atmosphere and the many surrounding possible adventures. As a family of 9, we stayed in this area for one month and made so many incredible memories hiking Pololu, Green Sands, Volcano National Park..etc... and playing as a family. We fell in love with the wild, natural beauty of the Big Island and the quiet garden atmosphere of Kulalani. Such an incredible balance and refreshing holiday for us as a family.

Perfect stay in the Mauna Lani Resort...

  • 5 of 5

The home was amazing. We loved the layout and the finishes. New, clean, nice. The pool area is great. The resort beach is glorious. We cooked meals in the nicely outfitted kitchen. We relaxed on the lanai. We had a massage therapist come to the house and do a spa day. We drove to area beaches and swam and snorkeled. We shopped at the Foodland. We went to the luau. We had a great trip. If you can stay here - do it.

Luxurious, well-maintained resort . Relaxing and peaceful place

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed everything about this beautiful resort. The condo is fully equipped with everything you need for vacation living. Professionally decorated rooms with comfortable beds, an oversized shower and Jacuzzi and a large kitchen. On the property are two stunning pools to enjoy with your family. One is a lap pool for the swimmer in the family. Beautiful beaches are close by. Overall we had a great time and would definitely rent here next time we come to the Big Island.

Everything we were looking for and more.

  • 5 of 5

When we look for a place to stay on the Big Island, we like to stay somewhere in Mauna Lani because we enjoy the beach and the snorkeling there.

We spend a lot of our time when 'at home' outside, so we look for a place with comfortable out door furniture. This place is wonderful! There is seating for four including two rocking chairs on the lanai upstairs. A perfect place to curl up with a book. Downstairs, outside, there is comfortable lounging furniture with side tables and a beautiful table for eating. We ate 100% of our meals outside.

The wonderful surprise for us was how very peaceful this place is. When sitting outside, this condo is situated so that you can see no other building. The view is only of grass, and beautiful lacy trees with the golf course behind. The only traffic we saw on the golf course was golf carts, and goats.

The inside is very tastefully decorated, with everything you would come to expect in a condo in this area.

If you are looking for Peaceful, this truly is that. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

Kurt and Jessica have a lovely home with all the amenities that we needed to make our work vacation outstanding. Kurt and Jessica are very responsive to our questions. Their housekeeper/ local manager was so helpful and kind. The home is lovely, and with 2 couples staying there for 10 days it provided privacy, convenience and easy living. Highly recommend the property & we will certainly stay there next time we visit the island.
