About Kelly & Kevin McNamara
Kevin and I love lake living! We live in NJ but discovered Lake Keowee in 2015 and fell in love with the whole area. We bought this house and spent a gorgeous Thanksgiving there. We have 4 grown kids who can't wait to spend as much time as possible at the lake kayaking, waterskiing and swimming in the crystal clear water! We both come from large close-knit families, and partying with family and friends is pretty much our favorite thing in the world to do.
Kelly & Kevin McNamara purchased this House in 2015
Why Kelly & Kevin McNamara chose Seneca
What we love best about this house is the incredible property. The land is almost completely flat from the house to the dock, so it's easy for anyone to enjoy. Little ones can run around and you don't have to worry about steps to the dock or water. We can sit on the lawn or beach and enjoy the most magnificent unobstructed view of the lake. Every sunrise and sunset are a reason to offer up prayers of gratitude.
What makes this House unique
The house just has a great feel. The wood burning fireplace and hardwood pine floors create a sense of comfort and peace. Downstairs the basement is spacious and bright, with sliders opening to the patio and full lake views. The built-in bunks are great for kids, and there's a second TV there as well. Have everyone rinse off in the outdoor shower!

Lovely lake house; great for families.
All went well with the house. It was clean and beds made and plenty of towels for everyone. I like to have a few more instructions re: which of the 5 remotes work the TV; use the door code on the upper garage key pad; the dishwasher buttons are hard to read once the door closes. (It didn't turn on as expected.)
We loved the screened-in porch. The view of the lake is stunning. The property along the water is spacious. The sand at the beach was a nice touch. I also liked the horseshoe area near the dock. There are a lot of water toys in the basement.
I was surprised that the rooms (& even driveway) were smaller than expected. The photos online are taken with a wide-angle lens. Rooms seemed much larger online. It was spacious enough, but more people and it would have been tight.
The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, etc.
We didn't use the new ovens; they seem very nice.
The drive to/from Clemson is easy and you pass 2 major grocery stores, so you can stop along the way. For graduation, we didn't hit much traffic, b/c we were on the other end of campus from most traffic.
I was most impressed by the prompt replies to messages by Kelly, the owner. She answered our questions and got back to us quickly. She is great to work with!
Well kept, clean and perfect lot to relax.
We have stayed in so many rentals and this one, by far, was one of the cleanest. Although not modernized like some may be, it certainly was a beautiful home that had everything you needed and nothing you don’t. Between kayaks, chairs, towels, extra blankets, and everything in between, we were very comfortable with staying put except for running out for groceries.
The bed we had in the master was more comfortable than our own and the sheets were to die for. So soft and comfortable. The lot the home was on was very private, serene and spacious with a beautiful area to sit and look out at the lake.
The only thing I might mention, which is common with many of the homes in Seneca/Clemson that we’ve rented in the past, was one day when we had every family member taking a shower at the same time. We quickly run out of hot water, but knowing that going forward, we simply made some timing changes to our shower routines. To me, not a huge problem when on vacation :-)
The owners were so sweet and very accommodating before and after renting the property. In fact we forgot my sons extra insulin in the fridge when we left and called them a couple hours afterwards to make arranagements to retrieve it. Without hesitation the owners were quick to accommodate us getting back in to the house with a code. Thanks Kelly and Kevin for a wonderful, much needed stay on the lake.
This was an absolutely perfect house for our two families to stay in. The boys had an absolute blast with their own "bunk room" and the lake/kayaks. Thank you so much! Would definitely stay here again!
Great location - close to Clemson, level lake lot, great water access.
Stayed at the house for a Clemson football game. The location was close to Clemson and idea for game day getting in and out. Plenty of parking as a number of family members meet at the house. Kelly, the owner, was right on top of everything. We needed to leave one day early due to hurricane Irma and he refunded the last night of our stay. We were able to enjoy the kayaks and the great screened in porch. The house was clean and had all the amenities we needed. We will absolutely look at staying here next time we visit the area.
Would do it again
Had a family get together this past weekend. This is a great place for a get away. Quite and peaceful cove. But even if you don't have a boat this place has plenty of things to help you enjoy your stay. Kayaks, canoe, fire pit, horseshoe leave you plenty of things to do. The house comfortablely sleeps 6 people upstairs. The bunks downstairs are fine for kids but we're a little uncomfortable for my 20 year old son. Kitchen is adequately stocked for cooking. We really enjoyed our stay and you definitely consider staying again in the future.
Great Family get away
My husband, myself and our children (7 yr old son & 12 yr old daughter) had a great time. There are tons of "lake toys" to enjoy. The owners were very friendly. I would note for large groups that the bunk beds down stairs are in the same room as the down stairs living room. We loved the screened porch. The house is placed very close to the water so easy to swim, boat etc... and return to the house. While on deep water, it feels very private. If I could buy a pace at the lake - it would be this house! Very close to grocery stores. Pictures are accurate.
