Fantastic cabin on lake Hayward - close to everything - yet quiet at night

Why Rhonda Passolt chose Hayward
The Village has (2) cabins side by side - the other VRBO is 248499. Renting both cabins for a family or friend get away is perfect. The cabins are close to everything but quiet and private during the evening. Many people fish from the dock and have great luck. You are welcome to bring your own water craft and dock it on your private dock or you can rent from M & M Rentals which is right down the road from the Village.

Nevermore Lumberjack village
Furnishings lacking: extremely uncomfortable beds, sofa collapsing- the most comfortable place to sit was a wooden kitchen chair😒 only 1 small juice glass and 1 10-oz glass; Mismatched flatware;
Wi-Fi was sporadic at best and often non-existent
Parking in front of or near to the cottage was impossible during their twice-weekly lumberjack shows. No-reserved spaces for renters. Also if you bring your own boat/trailer don’t expect to park it within view of your rental unit. We were asked to move ours on two separate occasions.
Not worth the money to stay. We cut our stay short, leaving one day early.
We are sorry that this guests experience was not what they had hoped for. We strive to have all our guests enjoy Lumberjack Village. Our cleaning staff normally reports any issues with kitchen stocks and repairs but we are double checking this Cabin to address any issues. The bed comfort is a subjective issue...some like them soft some not so much. And Lumberjack Village is a busy place during the Lumberjack Shows which last 1.5 hours. Free tickets are provided to the Show and most guests love that experience. We do have a dock for boat parking right behind the cabin and secure trailer parking is available but in specific spots...perhaps that could have been communicated better and will be in the future. Lumberjack Village is a large complex dedicated to tourism and guest experience is very important to us. Our success requires that we listen to guests...we always appreciate their input!
Perfect place for family vacation close to attractions
We really enjoyed our time here. The cabin is spacious, clean and well kept with 2 bathrooms and everything you need. We were able to dock our pontoon right there at our private dock. The kids had a blast with the paddle boat and they loved how close we were to mini golf, ice cream and shopping. I found it to be very conveniently located. Rhonda does a great job here. She gets back to you right away and is very accommodating. I would absolutely recommend this rental.
Right on the water! Dog friendly :) if you don't want to be tucked away in the woods this location is right in town and close to all the little shops. I didn't like how this post made it seem that you were the only cabin near by but there are a few cabins right next door. Ceiling in the bathroom was pretty short as well. It wasn't a problem for me since I am only 5 foot 4 inches. I liked how there was a propane grill with all the utensils needed. Also wood was provided by the firepit. Some towels are handy but definitely bring a few extra. We appreciated having dish soap, extra garbage bags and paper towel handy when we arrived.
Where to stay in Hayward
Very clean, well located - responsive hostess.
Lazy for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation
I stayed at Lazy Pines with 2 pals and we were all very pleased with the cabin and its location. The views of the lake are spectacular and it is an easy walk to downtime Hayward.
Both Rhonda and the owner were extremely responsive to our one minor problem.
We were wanting a cabin by a lake with beautiful views and privacy. That is exactly what the cabin afforded us.
A huge bonus was the fire pit with unlimited wood.
I would recommend this cabin to friends and family.
Very nice accommodations in a pleasant area.
We enjoyed our stay here. It's got a rustic log cabin kind of vibe, but it has all the modern amenities. Dishwasher, wifi, somewhat limited air conditioning, limited satellite cable channels, DVD player, etc.
You've got your own private dock out back where you can tie up your boat. I had no problems with my 19 ft fish n ski. It's probably 3.5 or 4 feet deep in the channel. However, the dock does not feature cleats or bumpers, so be prepared to improvise. Likewise, if you need to charge your boat batteries over night, be sure to bring an abundance of extension cords, as there is not an outdoor outlet at the rear of this property.
The shoreline is actually facing a channel that leads into the lake, rather than being on the main lake. This is a plus in my book because if a big storm or winds kick up, your boat is mostly sheltered from any of that stuff.
The property is right next door to the Lumberjack Show in town and a nice restaurant called the River Deck. That's cool, but we found that the parking lot would get jam packed with visitors at times and that the the noise from the M.C. on the microphone announcing the and the crowd cheering could be slightly annoying once in a while. 90% of the time you're fine though.
There is a nice porch out front and a small private deck out back with views of the lake/channel. The rear deck is pleasant, but the gas grill there is rickety and awful. It needs to be replaced before it falls over and starts a fire. 🙁
There are two bedrooms and a full bath upstairs; very nice. Be aware, however, that the ceiling is pitched at a steep angle and it's very low in some spots (standing at the commode and in the shower were just slightly challenging for me at 6'2.)
We were very appreciative that we were allowed to bring our small dog on this trip. We had a very relaxing time. You're just minutes away from the Fishing Museum grocery stores, and downtown Hayward (you could probably walk there in 20 minutes or so) with a variety of shops and restaurants.. Rhonda the manager was very good about getting back to us quickly about any questions or concerns we had. I would recommend this place to do some fishing, relaxing and some family time. 🙂
A paddle boat and canoe come with the property.
