Ask a questionAbout Nancy, Reservationist, Hummingbird Hill Cabins
Our family has always had the traveling bug and every summer growing up we would hop in the station wagon with Mom, Dad, Grandma and the 4 kids for an adventure somewhere. Eventually we traveled to every state on the mainland but once we spent time in the High Country of North Carolina we were hooked, traveling to Boone every summer after that! Some of us settled here to raise a family in Boone; the others continue to visit often. Originally, we bought and renovated this cabin as a duplex to call home on our visits, but eventually, other family members bought a few more cabins for a total of 4 - all within a stone's throw from one another. We lovingly called this little hamlet in the woods, Hummingbird Hill Cabin Village. There is so much to see and do in the Boone area that we've made wonderful memories here and love sharing our cabin with our guests to make their own memories!
Why Nancy, Reservationist, Hummingbird Hill Cabins chose Boone
We were drawn to the area for its beautiful mountain setting and endless adventures. And, we love our property for the location - it is tucked in a quiet woodland setting, so that you would never know how close everything really is, but it's just minutes from the center of Boone and the ASU campus. And, if you're here visiting an ASU student, it couldn't be more convenient, we're literally in ASU's backyard. We found that when family & friends get together there are always so many different wish lists of things to do (especially when we travel with different age ranges - toddlers, teens, parents, twenty somethings, couples). But here in Boone we have always found tons of things to keep the troops happy! Each day is a new adventure...from wine tasting to shopping, golfing to art shows, or hiking to skiing. And if you want to entertain kids & grandkids, try a bit of gem mining, mini golf, or a day at Tweetsie Railroad! And of course for those with the competitive spirit - try a little whitewater rafting - the parents' boat vs. the teenagers! (Don't worry there are calm waters or challenging rivers, choices abound.) There's something for everyone - the young, old, athletic, adventurous, romantic, curious, or reflective. And don't forget, when the day is done, back to the tranquility of the cabin for a nice meal with family or friends, or just relaxing around the fire. . The cabin allows you to enjoy all the creature comforts in a mountain setting, without having to take the long ride up the mountain. With a fully stocked kitchen and full-size appliances (fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher), you have what you need to cook and create. If you prefer to treat yourself to a meal out, there are many food choices close by - anything from fast food to fine dining to healthy havens. There is something for everyone in Boone and the High Country!
