Everything was great.
Great and easy experience
Property was fantastic. Would love to stay again if we are ever in the area again
Very enjoyable vacation stay.
We came from Newfoundland, Canada for vacation. The location was excellent. Staff at the Barefoot resort were friendly and helpful. The place itself was well equipped and very clean. We enjoyed the hottub every night. If we are ever back in the area we would definately stay there again!
Great views! Unit was very nice and easy to find
Loved it! Would recommend to anyone! Waking up to the mountain sunrise view was great!
A fun and relaxing vacation with lots of variety
The condo was clean and spacious, the beds comfortable, the hot tub wonderful (and so close!) and almost everything we needed was provided. We did end up purchasing a charcoal lighter for the grill as that was not present - we left if for the use of future renters. We loved the view and the fact that we were "away from it all" in the evenings when we came back after exploring all day. Local people were friendly and polite to us tourists, and we never lacked for things to do even though many things had closed for the season.
Clean, tidy and out of the way. It has it's pros and cons.
We checked in on a Sunday afternoon for a two night early October stay. I'm not sure, but if the receptionist had had any sort of a smile we might have felt more welcome.
Pros - The place was very clean and had all the amenities in the kitchen you should need. There were plenty of towels for our stay. And the hot tub was just outside our front door.
Cons - You have to drive to the building that has the indoor pool. Don't know the condition of it because we did not make the drive. The fireplace they mention three times in the "about the property" section is an electric unit that throws no heat. Seemed a bit misleading when they say "spend your days on the slopes and nights nestled by the fire".
Overall though, not bad. And the price was OK.
Welcome to a pine-clad oasis on the Great Plains! The Barefoot Resort is perfectly situated directly across the road from South Dakota's largest ski resort and the Northern Black Hills are home to a huge variety of activities for people of all ages. Bring your ATV's or snowmobiles and hop on one of the many area trails directly adjacent to Barefoot. Or check out the world famous Mickelson Trail only a few miles from the condo. Whether it's mountain biking or rock climbing your into, this area is a mecca for adventure tourism. Enjoy the stunning waterfalls and hiking in Spearfish Canyon, or a scienic drive down highway 385 to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments. If that sounds too tame, check out the wildlife at the Spirit of the Hills wildlife refuge or Custer State Park, or maybe even try spelunking at one of the many area caves. If you're more of a 'people person', check out historic Deadwood's exciting downtown. From shootouts to rockstars to one-armed bandits, you can find almost anything here.
